This place is a winner. I live in Madrid and this is exactly the sort of place that makes me wish I lived in Barcelona. The Madrid competitor (Bolero Meatballs) is great but much more traditional and casual (more suitable as a Spanish substitute for the late night kebab), while A Tu Bola is as sophisticated as a meatball based restaurant can be. The food is beautifully presented, the decor is curious and slightly hipster without being over the top, the owner is very talented and friendly and the whole team is a well oiled machine, they were a pleasure to watch in the small open kitchen. And of course the food is amazing. The most you can pay is 10€ (Plate+Drink+ChocolateBall) unless you order a full bottle of wine. Great value. Can't wait until they open a shop in Madrid. I would be a regular if I lived in Barcelona, if you are a tourist skip the crappy paellas and come here, this is the type of restaurant that makes the...
Read moreA Tu Bola is a cosy place where to go with some friends after a long and difficult day at work or to start a good evening ! The cooker and the waitress are welcoming and smiling to make you feel confortable.
The menu of this street food restaurant is original and healthy; the base is always the balls (could be of chicken, beef, porc or vegetarian). To wait your plate, have a drink and sabor the crunchy slices of vegetables kept in vinegar! The main dish, composed of 1, 2 or 3 balls is served with some bread and tzatziki sauce or with hummus.
Keep some room for the dessert which is a chocolate ball, sweets traditionally cooked by Israeli mothers to their children.
Finally, be surprised to pay less than 10 euros for the biggest menú! And if you are lucky enough, maybe you will meet the owner and have some chupitos of limoncello...
Read moreWe ordered "beef Moroccan style" and "pork Mexican style', both under a 9.50€ menu (3-balls plate+ drinks+ chocolate ball).
Everything were ate off and lekker! Out of expectation, my "pork Mexican" was amazing by Crispy Polenta. Taste so like my childhood food "糍饭糕” and very excellent biting taste!
"Beef Moroccan" is good designed taste as well. The beef ball was covered by some onion slices, the mixed biting feeling is not too much meat anymore. With an adequate amount of mashed potato.
The 3-ball plate is the amount for normal male stomach. For smaller stomach like girls, I recommend 2-ball PITA. I believe will be same lekker, lots of people choose take away PiTA.
Overall, a satisfied meal. 5 star. Owner has offered a small portion of seasoned vegetables, a good...
