Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were told to wait a few minutes as we didn't have a reservation which we were fine with. We were shown to our table about 15 mins later and we efficiently made our decision on what to order. We flagged down wait staff twice asking if someone could please take our order. They politely acknowledged our request but walked away. We knew it was a busy night so we were happy to wait and expressed our understanding several times. After a total of 20 mins at our table we sighted someone who we assumed was the manager and we asked if someone could please take our order for the third time. The man said no, we couldn't order food yet because we didn't have a reservation unlike the other customers. When my wife tried to clarify with him that our orders could not be taken he repeated that we didn't have a reservation like the others and that "if you're in a hurry then just go". As busy as the night was, it was not okay for customers to be spoken to so rudely as if they were a nuisance. We are not impatient people and have waited longer for food in the past, but it was the dismissive and unwelcoming attitude that made us leave the restaurant. It was obvious that the restaurant was poorly managed and did not have capacity to serve their customers. We would have preferred if they had just turned us away in the first place. We unfortunately cannot leave a review for the food because they wouldn't allow us...
Read moreI can say without a doubt that Avinyo 10 exceeded all my expectations. Located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, this restaurant achieves something very difficult: perfectly blending its décor with the historic surroundings while maintaining its own unique personality. The service was simply extraordinary. Not only was it fast and efficient, but the waiters showed genuine kindness that makes all the difference. When I accidentally stained my shirt, they didn’t hesitate to help me clean it - these are the kind of gestures that turn a good dinner into a memorable experience. Let’s talk about the food: the seafood paella was spectacular. The mussels had an intense and fresh flavor that really stood out in every bite. As a starter, I totally recommend the aubergine - perfectly prepared, with no bitterness or heat, offering a clean and delicious taste. Everything I tried maintained this level of quality. A detail that particularly impressed me: they have air conditioning throughout the entire place, even in the bathroom! For a restaurant with such affordable prices, this is not typical at all in Barcelona, and it shows their attention to detail and care for customer comfort. Avinyo 10 is a gem in the Gothic Quarter. Exceptional service, perfect atmosphere, and top-quality food. I will definitely return on my next visit...
Read moreok. the place looks really nice. love the atmosphere (apart of really, I mean REALLY noisy Americans... I mean cmon, Americana, are you 16?!?!), pictures on the wall, nice interior, pleasant and professional staff (loved that lemoncello at the end! )... But we made a mistake and order paellas! We have read somewhere that here we can eat best paella in Barcelona... Obviously, a trap for tourists.
Definitely, not their forte. It was too thin, and burned around the edges, dry and with very small pieces of vegetables and meat (not fair to promote their competitors here, but it won't be too hard to guess what is the place 15 mins walking distance from Avinyo where you can find massive pieces of both veggie and chicken). We both are far from being experts for paellas, actually these ones were the 2nd ones we had ever tried in our lives, but we can recognize a bad dish when we see one.
Dear people from Avinyo, We wish you all the best, and, please, take this as a constructive criticism, and not an input by a hater. I have never given less than 4 stars to any restaurants, we really liked your place, but your cook really NEEDS to improve drastically his...
