Bar El Born — Restaurant in Barcelona

The restaurant itself is right down the street from Picasso museum and the parc de la ciutadella. There are several seatings inside even thought it's kinda cozy. We had great customer service. Our persons explained everything in English which we greatly appreciated. Super friendly staff in general. With respect to their food. Explore their empanadas and their sandwiches. The empanadas are relatively small serving as expected with any tapas but their bocadillo (sandwiches) are average size. Recommend mixing and matching between those two option for lunch or really early dinner snack. They serve beer there too so go and enjoy with your tapas. Their prices are very reasonable. In one of my favorite streets of Barcelona leading to the Mercat del Born, you can find an authentic bar named “El Born”. The decoration is quite traditionally inspired. Most of the times it is really full, however, don’t let the quantity of people mislead you, because there is an upper floor. If you want to have a warm drink during the day this bars perfect. Friendly local bar facing into the main square in El Born. Good location to people watch, including the bar staff who are more interesting than the tourists, in a good way as the Barcelona people have such a wonderful laid back attitude to life. The wc's are upstairs up the narrowest and tight spaced spiral stairs, my son being 6ft 5inches tall is hilarious to watch squeezing up the feature stair but all good fun.
