Wow… What happened to us was such shocking.
The vibe throughout the night was fantastic, the food was great, but it was at the end of the night we realised that the owner of Da Nanni was trying to over charge us for 3 bottles of cava.
The pricing was nowhere to be seen and when we requested it he was unable to show us this. He was speaking to us in English, then as soon as this happened he all of a sudden could not speak in English!
They had manually priced each bottle at €50 each which was more than our food all together.
Bare in mind, he probably does this all the time to tourists, but we live here. Cava is not priced at €50 a bottle anywhere. If you’re on holiday you’ll probably let that slip right.
The whole experience has really put us off and I would never return because of the dishonest owner, it was just shocking behaviour.
In the end… he realised that we had caught him out and reduced some of the bill, but the guy was sneaky as it gets.
If you’re looking for a good Italian, I’d actually recommend visiting Terrazza Ravello instead. Much better service and honest with their customers - we go there all the time!
Update from last edit: I actually was curious to understand what bottle he served us, a quick Google resulted in a €10.50 bottle 🧐 Absolutely terrible and I’d be wary of anyone going to this place if he treats his customers...

Upon entering, the impressive interior welcomes guests with ample seating, and the clean restroom located below adds to the comfort of the establishment.
The friendly staff promptly found us a seat and took our orders with efficiency, though we experienced a slight delay in receiving our food, which the staff apologized for multiple times.
We indulged in the "Lasagna Napolitana", which surpassed expectations with its flavorful bechamel and passata. The unique presentation of the dish justified its price, leaving us thoroughly satisfied.
Next, we savored the "Di Bufala" pizza from their special menu—an absolute standout. Despite initial concerns about excessive dough, the crust was perfectly crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and incredibly easy to enjoy. The thin, delicious middle of the pizza complemented the flavorful passata, mozzarella, and prosciutto toppings flawlessly.
In conclusion, Da Nanni is a must-visit for those craving authentic Neapolitan pizza, lasagna, or similar Italian delights. Even for someone who isn't a frequent pizza eater, the experience at Da Nanni was simply exceptional. Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience in Barcelona's...
Read moreKiko / Cico was our initial waiter - When we first arrived and asked for a table, this waiter pointed to a far away table and rudely offered us a table in the corner. When we asked for a window seat he was rude in agreeing to that preposition.
We waited ages to be served, followed by a 30 minute wait for our pizza after we watched 6 delivery drivers collect pizzas that the kitchen made way before ours was ready.
When I asked about the delay, Kiko/Cico was exceptionally rude, gave the impression that we were a problem in his life, and this caused the other waiter to 'hold him back' from what was seen to be an aggressive physical attack on me.
My girlfriend was terribly shocked at what she saw. I was shocked at how I felt and we both felt that we should just leave. This was by far the worst service I have experienced in 4 months I have spent in Barcelona.
The other waiter, who served us (his name I have forgotten) was very apologetic and nice and it's a shame that his good service was ruined by the aggressive, angry and volatile demeanour...
