I recently had the pleasure of dining at the new tapas restaurant Bodega Solera, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. The ambiance was a delightful blend of simplicity and modern touches, reminiscent of a typical Spanish bodega.
The tapas selection was a journey through Spanish flavors, and I highly recommend trying the Boquerón, Gilda, marinera ensaladilla rusa, fricando, alcachofa, ensaimada, Mollete de rabo de toro, and tocinillo de cielo for dessert. Among these delectable dishes, the caillo, Gilda, and fricando were standouts that left a lasting impression.
The outstanding service further elevated the dining experience. The staff was attentive, and they went the extra mile by cooking the dishes in front of us and sharing the origin of the food materials, adding a personal touch to each dish.
The quality of the food was exceptional, and the prices were reasonable, considering the amazing Murcian wine we ordered. The wine selection and recommendations were top-notch, enhancing the overall dining experience.
While there were not too many vegetarian options, the available choices were delicious and well-presented. Vegetarian or not, you're sure to enjoy the flavors this restaurant has to offer.
The restaurant's location near the end of Paseo de Gracia makes it easily accessible and a convenient stop during your Barcelona explorations.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend this tapas gem to anyone seeking an authentic Spanish culinary experience with a touch of modern flair. Whether you're a local or a traveler, this restaurant is a must-visit. You won't be...
Read moreAfter a very hot day we decided not to venture too far from our hotel. The bright green doors of Bodega Solera were inviting and we were after an authentic tapas experience. We were seated at an island with a very pleasant man behind it who was prepping all kinds of wonderful dishes whilst onlookers mouths watered including ours. He was knowledgeable and friendly and inviting. We had some plump olives with salty anchovies, a melt-in-the-mouth beef stew with mushrooms served on crisps (strange but delicious), artichokes with romanesca sauce sprinkled with toasted hazelnuts (out of this world for a carnivore) Iberico ham (the best I’ve ever had….my word) tomato bread and white wine. We then finished with a custard tart like sweet and a crispy flaky roll filled with a type of crème Anglaise type filling, a wonderful end to our meal. It all came to €51 and were were happy and full. What struck me the most was the homeliness of it all - plastic containers with prepped ingredients with labels that were put expertly together. And I knew then, from being a home cook and food lover myself, that every morsel would turn into a street festival in my mouth, just like mama used to make….there was love in every bite. Highly recommended for every visitor who wants an authentic...
Read moreI went there with some friends, we decided to ignore the reviews and give it a try… I strongly DO NOT recommend this place! We asked for a bottle of red wine and they came back saying they didn’t have that one but they found a similar one for us, they didn’t let us try it but poured it directly… needless is to say the wine was an overpriced cheap wine… as for the other bottle, the white wine, my friends asked what they would recommend for a DRY one and again they brought one, didn’t let us try… the wine was definitely NOT DRY it was a mix with moscatel… my friends complained and this guy came to our table, didn’t introduce himself, he just sat down and started MANSPLAINING why the wine was dry and we were wrong… after a very uncomfortable patronizing monologue, feeling gaslighted my friends decided to have a beer instead. The whole situation could’ve been handled way better without letting us felt insulted and mistreated. We still don’t know who that guy was as he never explained his role in that restaurant. All we know is, that place is not worth it and those prices for the quality of those wines is definitely not worth it! UPDATE the three people that drank the red wine have spent the entire day feeling sick with the...
