I do my fair share of research consulting all the big ones out there - Google, blogs, chatGPT, friends, family, etc. and this place never came up.
Do yourself a favor and make a reservation for dinner at this place immediately! This was one of our favorite restaurants in Barcelona. We sat at the counter as we did not have reservations and it was super fun as you’re able to see all the unique dishes being prepared.
The chefs they are doing an amazing job, creating unique dishes that are full of flavor. We got the tasting menu and had no regrets. We actually added onto the tasting menu and at that point we realized our eyes were bigger than our stomachs but when you see all this good stuff come out of this cool kitchen you’d do the same. Course after course we were blown away! The food was delicious and the presentations were equally as beautiful.
The front of house staff here is absolutely amazing. They do an incredible job making you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. They are full of smiles and full of life.
We did not get the wine pairing with the tasting menu. However, the wines by the glass were delicious as well.
Cannot recommend this restaurant more! We had a great evening at...
Read moreWe had a spectacular meal here a few nights ago. The two young South African chefs who helm this place serve beautifully crafted food that could easily earn them a Michelin Star. We had the 6 course set menu that I think was €30 per person... an absolute steal! It is Spanish food with Asian influences, but I hesitate to call it “fusion”, as I normally run a mile when I see that word on a menu. The first course was beef tartare that sat on a bed of sushi rice, with a touch of matcha. Stirring in the egg yolk and mixing it all up, any fears that this might be a fumbling attempt at pseudo-japanese disappeared with the first mouthful. It was immediately obvious that these young chefs really understood balance and harmony. The rest of the courses similarly delighted and impressed.
I must also applaud our server, Laura, for her enthusiasm and warmth, and for making us feel more comfortable.
On top of all of this, the tiny restaurant (only eight tables if I remember correctly) is set in a cobbled narrow lane deep in the Gothic Quarter. There is a great wine bar a few doors away, perfect for pre-dinner drinks.
Go and try it now: soon you won’t be able to get a reservation for...
Read moreFood was average, same with the wine. I would normally give a slightly above average rating except we had an issue with the server. When it came time to pay, she told my husband that the tip was not included in the bill. So my husband asked her to help him with the credit card transaction so we could add a tip. Somehow she’s not paying attention and it’s too late to add. She appears annoyed and angry, so my husband tells me to see if we had any euros left. The bill was 142 euros. I had forty euros so I asked for ten back, unsure of how much we’re suppose to tip given that tips are generally not as high in Europe vs USA. She gives me a very rude reply and says she’s not sure she can get me ten euros back. She eventually comes back with ten euros. Everything I’ve read has said that 10-15% tip is fine for tip, so this waitress giving us attitude when we’d already given her way more than that was really disingenuous. I blame the restaurant for hiring wait staff that would treat customers like this. If you’re a tourist I would avoid this place simply because they hire wait staff with a bad attitude and have no qualms about treating...
