Bubita Sangria Bar — Restaurant in Barcelona

I’m not one to leave a review or complain but we recently visited this restaurant for dinner and the experience wasn’t amazing. Five of us ordered our meals within 5 minutes of us arriving and 3 of our meals came out within a reasonable time. But myself and my partner had ordered the Spanish Tapas board and we were told there may be a delay when they delivered the food. We were expecting about 10-20mins max delay but ended up waiting almost 2 hours for our food. By then our friends had already eaten their meals and we were ready to go. I’m unsure if our meal was forgotten or the dish we ordered had run out of ingredients but there was no explanation and it seemed the waiters were avoiding coming to our table I was very surprised that the seafood platter took so long compared to our friends dishes which were paella. Once the waiter arrived with the bill we asked politely if we could have a discount due to the long wait. The waiter immediately said “no”. We then explained again that we had waited 2 hours for our food and she said that she didn’t think so but she would ask her manager which I appreciated. She came back and said that it was not possible, I’m not one to argue so we paid the bill and left. Look I’m not a hater but the overall experience left a sour taste in our mouths and we would not recommend or dine there again. If they would have offered a slight discount or perhaps a couple complimentary drinks as a “sorry” for the long wait then I wouldn’t be writing...

I had the most incredible experience at Bubita in Barcelona! This vegetarian-exclusive Sangria bar is an absolute gem in the heart of Gotic Square. The moment you step in, you're greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that instantly sets the mood for a fantastic evening.

Great restaurant with great atmosphere and service until…

Food was good, waiters were attentive and friendly. The reason for the low rating was primarily the drinks. We had various drinks, but one round of drinks wasn’t great - at all. We asked the waiter for different drinks (even asked him to taste what we had been given), he brought back the same with more booze in it. Not great at all. The Moscow mule is sub par and tastes like lime juice, the Morgana smelled amazing but tasted like water and the Lola tastes artificial to the point where you think you’re drinking straight up cordial syrup. We told the waiter that we didn’t want these drinks and they finally brought us something different which was much better. We asked for the bill, but we were only told the amount - the drinks we sent back were included. The one waiter said they have to charge us unfortunately and the other one blamed our taste buds. Finally they deducted the amount, but their demeanour changed and it got very uncomfortable. Would like to go back, and hopefully the drinks will improve.
