Some good points and bad points about this establishment.

Staff member on arrival friendly and showed us a selection of tables however there was water coming from the ceiling so we had to move twice. When I asked a waiter about this he said it was normal and it was the air conditioning above... I'm not entirely sure why its a good idea then to put tables here if it's a known problem. When spending €200+ you'd expect to not get leaked on... wobbly table which the waiter come and stuffed some card under when I made them aware...

Food is good, some better than others. Wagyu noodles were very nice best I had in there, would recommend them. Sushi was quite average.

Service slow for drinks and I could see my drinks made on the side of the bar going flat with no one bringing them.

I asked for a pint of larger which they said they had but what they brought me was more like half a pint. Which I really wouldn't have minded if they had told me but was a bit deceiving.

My girlfriend had to chase down the drinks at one-point after waiting 20+ minutes. When at the bar they tried to give her a drink with about a 2 inch head on it and that "this is how they do it in Spain" - half the glass foam... The waiter who came to the table to speak to me about this was very nice though and offered me a bottle instead and resolved the issue.

Magician was a nice touch, funny man.

DJ decent, good music for food, progressing, as the...

Carpe Diem commands a fantastic beachfront location very close to the Olympic Port of Barcelona and is very clearly one of the places to be for day and nighttime entertainment along the promenade.

Carpe Diem offers a worldwide and eastern styled cuisine and very likely offers something to suit most pallets. The restaurant inside has a very exotic and premium vibe and I can imagine as the evening draws in this would be a great place to be.

Carpe Diem is not just a restaurant but it also provides sun beds for hire on the beach immediately outside. We spent the afternoon on the beach before taking the opportunity to dine at the restaurant.

Two sun beds and a parasol cost €45 and personally I found the sun beds incredibly uncomfortable with the metal frame protruding through all the time. Apart from that the beach was good and the beach waiter service from Carpe Diem was excellent.

After our time on the beach we were given a great table on the terrace overlooking the sea and this was a fantastic way to round off the day. The drinks and food menu was very good and the quality of the food we had was excellent.

There is a lot of choice along the beachfront and promenade in Barcelona however, from our experience this was a good choice and would be happy...

YOU ARE ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR LAST IMPRESSION We recently selected this restaurant for a quick lunch at the beach Welcome was friendly and we were seated immediately and were even offered a glass of cava "on the house"! From the very extensive menu we selected a 16 pieces mixed sushi & sashimi platter and a nasi goreng It took quite a while for the sushi & sashimi platter to be served but it was worth the wait...well presented and great taste Unfortunately the nasi goreng was a real disappointment.....it missed all the right ingredients....it was just a tasteless mix of rice and some vegetables and chicken with no presence of nasi goreng spices. When we paid our bill and we offered to round the Euro 86,75 bill to Euro 90,00 the waiter said "you normally add 10%"!.....We asked him again to explain what he just said and he said again :"it is custom to tip 10% of the total bill". We left the amount at Euro 90,00 but left the restaurant with a bitter taste in our mouth We dine-out a lot in Barcelona, but this was the first ever time a waiter mentioned that tipping 10% was custom Not really a venue we would return to soon

I wish I could give this place 5 stars but I can't. The food excellent! We ordered Tataki de Atún and Solomillo de Ternera. Also a wine Albariño. Good food and taste. The vibe was awesome, the restaurant itself is beautiful. A great dinner spot that turns into a party. The service very good too. Only the music during the dinner I found it very loud so we had to shout in order to hear each other. The food also is overpriced in my opinion. Afterwards the cocktails like Daikiri very good! However someone stole my phone despite having it in my bag all the time while dancing. The club always tells you to be careful with your belongings, but what else are you going to do if you are very attentive all the time and they still steal you? Apart from this they took me my value chain. Impressive that I did not find out anything at any time and without being drunk. The club in that case does not help at all, they only tell you to tell the security. Apparently Carpe Diem is known for pick-pocketers. so be very wary of your belongings.
