Read moreSome good points and bad points about this establishment.
Staff member on arrival friendly and showed us a selection of tables however there was water coming from the ceiling so we had to move twice. When I asked a waiter about this he said it was normal and it was the air conditioning above... I'm not entirely sure why its a good idea then to put tables here if it's a known problem. When spending €200+ you'd expect to not get leaked on... wobbly table which the waiter come and stuffed some card under when I made them aware...
Food is good, some better than others. Wagyu noodles were very nice best I had in there, would recommend them. Sushi was quite average.
Service slow for drinks and I could see my drinks made on the side of the bar going flat with no one bringing them.
I asked for a pint of larger which they said they had but what they brought me was more like half a pint. Which I really wouldn't have minded if they had told me but was a bit deceiving.
My girlfriend had to chase down the drinks at one-point after waiting 20+ minutes. When at the bar they tried to give her a drink with about a 2 inch head on it and that "this is how they do it in Spain" - half the glass foam... The waiter who came to the table to speak to me about this was very nice though and offered me a bottle instead and resolved the issue.
Magician was a nice touch, funny man.
DJ decent, good music for food, progressing, as the...

Carpe Diem offers a worldwide and eastern styled cuisine and very likely offers something to suit most pallets. The restaurant inside has a very exotic and premium vibe and I can imagine as the evening draws in this would be a great place to be.
Carpe Diem is not just a restaurant but it also provides sun beds for hire on the beach immediately outside. We spent the afternoon on the beach before taking the opportunity to dine at the restaurant.
Two sun beds and a parasol cost €45 and personally I found the sun beds incredibly uncomfortable with the metal frame protruding through all the time. Apart from that the beach was good and the beach waiter service from Carpe Diem was excellent.
After our time on the beach we were given a great table on the terrace overlooking the sea and this was a fantastic way to round off the day. The drinks and food menu was very good and the quality of the food we had was excellent.
There is a lot of choice along the beachfront and promenade in Barcelona however, from our experience this was a good choice and would be happy...
