Club 61 — Restaurant in Barcelona

We went on Friday night for a works team dinner. We went for the set menu which seems a little expensive for what you get. All of the food was nice apart from the desert, the whole table agreed that this had little taste & needed more sugar possibly?

The reason I am only giving 2 stars is because of the clientele. We arrived a 8pm and at 11pm two men sat down next to our table and order drinks. They immediately started a conversation with the 4 of us (all girls) One of the men was extremely rude, the other man was very friendly but appeared to be under the influence of something. This probably carried on for 30/45 minutes and was quite annoying. When we left we was told by a member of staff that they were 'bad men' and they are known to film women without them knowing. At this point two of my friends said they noticed the men had their phones out and looked to be filming. It's very upsetting to hear that an establishment is aware of what these men are doing YET they are still given a table. We spent a lot of money & regardless of this, I think everybody should feel safe and comfortable in a restaurant.

Paradiso may be the top bar right now in Barcelona, but I promise, there is no disappointment found at Club 61! Unlike Paradiso, Club 61 will likely NOT have an hours long wait to enter. I'm not the most patient person - the idea of waiting hours to enter a bar to wait to order a drink is madness to me. Do yourself a favor, find a way into Club 61. This charming speakeasy has such a fun vibe to it, including live entertainment on the busier nights. Now, I need to make this clear - we happened to visit during Barcelona Cocktail Week (September 9th - October 9th 2022) we had several drinks from their regular menu, but this Ubuntu drink made by our bartender Matthew stole the show. I've never had a cumin infused drink and holy hell was it heavenly! The Club 61 signature cocktail was also very delicious as is the Blueberry Old Fashioned. But if you're a coffee lover, the Nutty Espresso Martini will have you drooling - by far, our second favorite drink...

The staff at Casa Rafols were amazing. Food and service were great. We were then invited downstairs to ‘club61’, with a key and went through a hidden door. We were met by Matthew, the bartender, who gave us a rundown on the drinks list and a little taster of the ‘potion of the day’. He was so enthusiastic and passionate about his self curated cocktail list. I had the blueberry old fashioned and my partner had the ‘Potion of the day.’ They were some of the most amazing cocktails we have ever had. Along with a live pianist, who set the mood and got everyone having a good time, this whole experience became a great night.
