Randomly stumbled upon this bar…design is minimal, which I like but the service and food made this the highlight of my entire trip. I’ve traveled around quite a bit to eat in Michelin starred and highly rated restaurants but genuinely…. finding this place on a random Friday afternoon surpassed the vast majority of the €500 meals I’ve had. The tortilla was better than any I had in San Sebastián…the Artichoke heart with egg yoke and some kind of Jamon broth Is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten…it’s changed my opinion on what it means to travel and eat…by all means plan ahead but leave days to explore. We tried the “cabrales” (blue cheese) tortilla and el clásico (onion and potato). Both delicious! Apparently the house special is the basque crab tortilla, but there wasn’t any that night, so must go back. For drinks we had a red wine from Mallorca, and a white macabeu local to Catalonia. It got pretty packed, best to make a reservation. Oh, and the cheesecake was amazing. Although a little over priced for tapas,...
