I wish i had found this review when i arrived in barcelona. All you hear about is tapas and seafood, which is fair being spain and all. And when its warm out, sometimes the last thing you'd want is a bowl of hot ramen.

But i walked by an alley today did a double take and then walked back once I saw the Ramen sign. To be honest I was just looking for a place to eat that had air-conditioning but once I saw the Cool space inside I had to try their ramen.

I believe that the best Ramen always come down to one thing and that's the broth. And there's three qualities to the broth that separate the best Ramen from the rest. If you cool the broth does it become jellylike and not watery. (I know that this broth does based on the flavor and texture when i tried it) For ramen it should be not too spicy so you can finish the whole thing but also spicy enough where your nose be running by the end The broth should be good enough that you would buy it even if it didn't contain noodles or anything else

This place scored all 3. A truly must eat for anyone in the area. Very nice trio of young guys who started it and perfected the taste for 18 months. With all the sub-par tapas in the area, (i mean that truthfully), get to koku early and get a seat to try some of the best ramen...

Being a big fan a ramen and currently trying them all in barcelona, I will give my honnest review. I took the basic miso ramen, and it was globally very good.

Broth: the broth was very tasty and pretty thick, which is how I like it. Noodles: the noodles were perfectly cooked, hard enough to have consistency, and not too thin, which can often be a deception in other ramens. Meat: the meat is what surprised me the most, it was excellent, well grilled on the outside but melting inside the mouth. Maybe a slightly bit too salty but I didn't mind. It's quite hard to find really good meat in ramen in europe. Toping: the toping were quite basic, maybe a bit too much sea weeds, which prevent from drinking the broth in the end, and some bamboo shoots would have been nice.

So individually, there was everything to make an excellent ramen. BUT.. what really saddened me, is that the noodles didn't take the taste of the broth enough. So the broth was really good but you coudln't feel it much while eating the noodles, which is one of the most important part still in ramen.

I still put 5 stars because i tried many ramen in barcona and it is clearly among the tops. But it could be perfected still. Gochiso...

This charming spot is a hidden gem, exuding the cozy, slightly cramped ambiance that’s quintessential to an authentic ramen shop. The atmosphere is thick with the rich aromas of broth and sesame oil, enveloping you in a truly sensory Japanese dining experience. Additionally, the staff is notably friendly and competent, enhancing the dining experience with their visible expertise. They also serve very well-tempered sake, perfect for complementing your meal. The sunomono was a delightful surprise, zesty with tingling vinegar and soy, offering a refreshing contrast to the rich flavors. The pork gyoza was another highlight, with meat so finely minced that it had an incredible texture, practically melting in your mouth. The dipping noodles were perfectly cooked, served with a powerful dipping sauce that was rich and savory. Topped with shrimp, this dish was an absolute delight. For anyone craving an authentic taste of Japan, this cozy nook offers a culinary escape right in the heart of the city. It's a must-visit for both ramen aficionados and...

This is probably the best place to go to, if you love Ramen, because in this small kitchen, some sort of miracle is summoned. The intense smell is mouth watering, the broth's taste is soul soothing and the texture is addictive. The ambience is pleasant and the service is polite, nice and well-spoken in English. Just in general, if you want to go out for very good food in Barcelona, go visit Koku Kitchen. And one last thing - anyone commenting with less than 5 stars and claiming that the Ramen is not a culinary delight has simply no sense of good taste, no idea and should stick to dry fish and chips, that's more like something that suits their character.

Ramen here it's okay, the miso spacy it's my favorite, although it's not that spacy. My favorite dish are the dumplings, very similar to the originals Chinese dumplings. During summer I recommend to order the lemonade, it's very refreshing. Another aspect that I like is that they are environment friendly and concious. There is WiFi connection available. They only thing I don't like that much is that it's a bit small and tables are too close to each other. You can overhear people's conversation. In pic hours sometimes there's a queue. So it's better you go there a few minutes in advance if you are hungry. Also it takes several minutes to get your dish.

Pros: - Delicious food! The Pad Thai was tasty, and the Vermut was enjoyable. 🍜 - Good variety of desserts. - Ideal spot if you’re in the area and looking for a quick meal. Cons: - The place is small and seating is on shared tables, so you need your whole group to be present to sit. This can be inconvenient. - The street outside has an unpleasant smell. - High demand means the experience feels rushed; you’re expected to eat and leave quickly. Final Thought: While it’s not my top choice, it’s worth a visit if you’re nearby. I recommend trying their branch in the Gótico for a potentially better experience.
