We landed earlier today. It was raining, so we wanted to check out the local scene around our VRBO. Carolyn does a great job finding gems for us to try, and being in Barcelona for our own tapas crawl. Kserol was the perfect start. We were greeted by the owner, Nuria, and given a nice table in the back with 2 plush chairs. A large menu board was brought out so we could see everything easily. Our Spanish is only so-so, and any Catalan is non-existent. Didn't matter. Her conversational English was quite good, and her personality was welcoming and fun. We shared several dishes, the standout being the calves cheek. The calamari was different than we'd ever seen, but tender and nice flavor. We tried their house sangria, which was perfect. A truly great find, and literally less than a block away....
Read moreFantastic food, service and atmosphere. We had there lunches and sometimes dinners during our seven days stay in Barcelona. There is a nice combo for lunch at 14,9€ with three courses, drink and dessert. One combo and one additional dessert was more than enough for me and my five-year old daughter, who eats not less than I :) Please do not pay attention to a bit shabby interior as the food and service you will get there are more valuable. Tried other places, but food and service were not so good and at higher price, though interior was much better. Two men and two ladies working there always tried their best to serve every table as quickly as possible, though restaurant was always full of visitors. Bravo to all staff...
Read moreWe've been walking past this place for months now and today we thought we'd try it for lunch. The bad experience could be because it was Saturday - during the week they seem to offer tasty lunches.. The staff was friendly, that's why it's not a 1-star review, but the food was very disappointing: The risotto was nearly flavorless, almost cold and seemed to have shredded chicken inside, the burger was undercooked and generally not worth the price (although the truffles were a good idea), and the bread used for the pan con tomate just didn't work.
Quite disappointed especially since the reviews seemed quite good. We walk by there twice a week, but I'm not sure whether we'll give it another chance for lunch...
