Kynoto Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Barcelona

This is soooooooo good! I've been a bit of a sushi enthusiastic for about five years now and there's yet to be found a place that exceeds this one (I've been dining in Finland and Spain). The menu isn't overly generous but the collection of different, classic and more imaginative tastes is surely abundant. This place served the absolute best miso-soup, dobin mushi, I've tasted, with perfectly sweet shiitake mushrooms, tasty clams and finely balanced soy-sesame base chord. The rice was almost perfectly prepared: structure was excellent, I would have only yearned for a slightly more articulated tint of vinegar. The toppings were made of truly great and fresh ingredients. Fishes and other seafood was excellent. I especially fell in love with the smoked eel uramaki called Dragon, though, the tuna gunkan was also an absolute delight. Kynoto has, in my opinion, a great location: close enough to ramblas to be in a walking distance of the main attractions of the harbor, but still, it's slightly in the shade in the smaller and, in a way, a more private parts of the city, like a hidden gem. It also has a beautiful peaceful atmosphere on the inside – the upstairs dining area feels like a cosy but elegant living room. The one and only downside was the 56€ prize tag on the meal for two. We decided to have dinner at Kynoto because of its high rating but were quite disappointed. The food is okay but overpriced and definitely not worth 4.5 stars. We have tried lots of better quality sushi on a lower budget in Barcelona. The Miso soup was delicious, but the gyoza seemed to have been reheated prior to our serving. The place itself is humble, with a lovely atmosphere but run down. It looks better in the pictures. The service was so-so; the waiter was kind indeed but it took too long to have our servings ready. Waited 2h for food, with constant assurance when calling "it's there in 10 minutes".

Owner responds to review "that it was 53 minutes since order was placed", which is a lie. We called after one hour and the food wasn't even finished yet.

A) Don't repeatedly tell me it's 10 minutes until we get the food. If there are problems. We'd rather cancel then. B) And don't tell me it's because of delivery problems. If we call you after 1 hour and you respond that the food is not ready yet. It is not a delivery error. You're just lying

On top of that the food was sloppily made and really tasteless.
