I feel sorry for anybody who thinks that this is “authentic” Mexican food. I’m from Texas, have lived in Mexico, and currently live in Valencia. I have low expectations with Mexican food in Spain, but tried this on a visit to Barcelona based on the reviews. Margaritas are made with lemon, not lime. Tacos are served with lemon, not lime. It’s not hard… they sell limes at Mercadona. The tacos are not bad by Spanish standards and the salsas are ok, but the cheese on the nachos IS NOT CHEESE. I understand that expecting the same taste as in Mexico is not realistic but I’ve had much better tasting pastors in Europe. The asada tacos were not good. The meat was overcooked and they were not very warm. Which is a weird combination. The sauces are ok. On the positive, the corn tortillas are decent. Again, i was not expecting 100% authentic tacos as imo that is simply not possible outside Mexico, but it’s fair to say that they’re not great. I dont think I’ll be...
Read moreHome away from home! My fiancé and I were in Spain as part of our Europe trip and we’re sad that spicy food is not a big thing here. Then one night we were walking the streets looking for a bar when we saw cantaritos. We knew we were in for a good time and we could not have been more happy with our experience. Shoutout to the owner (Jordi) and Diego for a great time while in Barcelona. The food, the vibes, and the company made our trip so much more memorable.
If you like this spot then Jordi has another location near the beach! Be sure to visit that one too. Can’t wait to come back. Thanks for...
