Review of the restaurant "Mimos" in the center of Spain I recently visited the restaurant "Mimos" in the center of Spain, and I simply cannot help but share my admiration for this place. It is the perfect venue to enjoy the atmosphere of Spain, delicious food, and excellent service. Let me start with the drinks. The sangria I ordered at "Mimos" was simply divine. It was refreshing, fruity, with hints of citrus—a perfect choice for a hot Spanish evening. Undoubtedly, the best sangria I have ever tasted. Next, I tried the seafood paella. It was a true gastronomic delight! The rice was cooked to perfection, and the seafood added exquisite flavors and aromas. The portion was generous, and I savored every spoonful of this dish. Moving on, I decided to try the beef with peppers and roasted potatoes. It was a masterpiece! The beef was cooked to the perfect degree of tenderness, juicy, and flavorful, while the peppers paired beautifully with the meat. The roasted potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This dish simply melted in my mouth. Next on my list was the salmon with pumpkin puree. It was delightful! The salmon was fresh and tender, with a crispy exterior. The pumpkin puree was a divine combination of sweetness and smoothness, perfectly complementing the flavor of the fish. This dish was exceptional and unforgettable. And, of course, I couldn't pass up the tapas. Tacos, ham, patatas bravas, and bruschetta—everything was prepared to perfection, infused with authentic Spanish flavors. Each dish was unique and complemented the others perfectly. The service at "Mimos" was impeccable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and ready to assist at any moment. They created a cozy and welcoming atmosphere in which I felt right at home. In conclusion, the restaurant "Mimos" is a place I highly recommend to anyone who wants to indulge in exquisite Spanish cuisine and a wonderful atmosphere. Here, you will find dishes of the highest quality, excellent service, and an unforgettable experience. I look forward to my next visit to this establishment!

The food was great however the short male filipino manager was definitely lacking any means of professionalism on the service end of things. I asked how much their vermuts were since I specifically told him I wasnt able to find it on the menu (qr code menu). He told me to scan the qr code and that it was on the menu and told me to look for it myself. I think knowing that vermut is one of the most preferred drinks in spain, he wouldve been kind enough to let me know how much it was.. but I had to ask another waitress who just looked at her pda and told me the price and kindly let me know that it wasnt on the qr code menu. For all future visitors of this restaurant, it is very touristy and the filipino manager will have his crew of waitresses or himself to clean your plates as soon as you are done to get you to leave asap to get new customers. Also be aware, sitting on the terrace will cost 15% extra on your bill which isnt mentioned until you read the menu in fine print. My wife's glass drink had lipstick stains on the rim. Would rate a -10 on their sanitation for the BAR section. Was a bit disturbed by this. Seems they just steam clean it and wipe any stains with their cloth. But the Gambas was well worth the price for 6 huge prawns for 12 euros or something like that. The price of vermut was different for their white(4.9) and red(4.5).

The paella was somewhat decent. The fried chicken was tough and dry. The prices weren't too bad. The female wait staff were really polite. The patio seems nice at first, however you WILL be harassed by aggressive beggars while you eat and the staff will simply allow them to go to every table and they'll do absolutely nothing to stop them. There are pigeons everywhere and it's obvious why. They keep all their dirty plates and food waste directly in the restaurant entryway at the front of the patio instead of taking it back into the kitchen to dispose of. This is unbelievable. The short Filipino man working in the patio bar area was also very rude and unwelcoming for no reason and they brought my dish approximately 15 minutes before my partner's dish was ready. I actually had to ask them to return my food to the kitchen and bring it back when all the food was ready to be served. This is a pretty basic service rule and I can't believe I actually had to ask them to do this. They charge for tapwater here too. They pour it into a bottle with their restaurant logo, but it's still tapwater. They also add a 15% surcharge for dining on their patio. My suggestion is to eat inside or better yet, just go a bit further into El Born and find a better restaurant.

I highly discourage everyone from ordering paella when eating at this restaurant. I was in a group of 10 people, we all ordered paella and everyone left very disappointed about the food they served; the rice was so overcooked that it stuck to the pan and the fish was poorly cooked to the point when we tasted some pieces of this so-called "fish", everyone agreed that it resembled the taste of meat and mushrooms: obviously, when asked about it, the staff replied immediately (without even asking the cook first, implicitly meaning, in my opinion, that we weren't the first ones with this issue) that it was their way of cooking "fish", so i'll let the viewers draw their own conclusions. The wine we ordered was decent but really overpriced for such quality (i assume it would cost them around €5 so it wasn't worth the €21 we spent). On top of that they don't have a house wine, so if you plan to drink something, even not that good, be prepared to add at least €20 to your bill. The table they gave us was sticky and not very clean, but it wasn't much of a bother to us. The staff speaks a very good english, so cheers to them; unfortunately, they are totally unprepared and are not able to give you the minimal advice about wine or food, besides "order what you like" of course. The bill was average, but, for the quality of the food we ate, we should have...

Mimo's Born is a hidden gem in the heart of central Barcelona, and I had an amazing experience there. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, with a perfect blend of modern design and traditional touches that reflect the charm of the El Born district.

The food was outstanding – fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and each dish was crafted with care and creativity. Whether you're into tapas, seafood, or something heartier, the menu has a great variety to suit all tastes. I particularly loved their patatas bravas, and the seafood paella was simply unforgettable. Everything was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. We had drinks - they tasted well and were powerfull.

The staff were another highlight of the evening. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive, they made sure the experience was smooth and enjoyable. They offered great wine pairings that complemented the meal perfectly, and their recommendations were spot on.

Mimo's Born is also ideally located in one of the most vibrant parts of the city, making it a perfect spot to stop for a meal after exploring the nearby attractions. Overall, it's a fantastic dining experience that showcases the best of Barcelona's culinary scene. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxed and delicious meal in a stylish yet...
