Miyazakisushi — Restaurant in Barcelona

Two of us walked in at 9:30pm on a Friday, hoping to order some light supper. We decided to order a pork cutlet rice (Katsudon) to share between two as we had already had dinner. Not only did the service staff ridicule our choice to share, they did so throughout our meal. The waitress loudly and publicly remarked that if we're unwilling to spend, we might as well cook instant noodles at home.

In hindsight, a cup of instant noodles might have been a better choice. The food was terrible; it was extremely salty as if they emptied a bottle of soy sauce into our rice, there was hardly any rice and the egg was an overcooked fried egg instead of being cooked together with the pork as in typical Katsudon and the menu pictures. So if you're looking for authentic Japanese food, this is not the place to go.

The restaurant is run by Chinese staff, who did not know we could speak Mandarin so they loudly made jokes about us and insulted us in the open. Apart from ridiculing our food choice, they also joked about us not ordering drinks. This was loud enough for all the customers in the restaurant to hear but since it was in Mandarin, we were the only ones who understood.

Here's a lesson for the restaurant staff: just because we were speaking in English doesn't give you the right to assume we don't understand Mandarin. Being bad cooks is forgivable, being racist and rude is not.

Sushi place 3 minutes from our house. I saw it a couple times but it looks a lot like a bar. We decided to check it out tonight.

I only had 2 sushi plates, but they were really nice! My boyfriend had the crispy chicken (which was good but not great) and chicken teriyaki, which he liked. I didnt like the dim sum, but it was the first time I ate it, so its possible I just dont like the dish haha.

We'd been travelling Europe for a while and we're keen for some Asian cuisine. We discovered Miyazakisushi and we're pleasantly impressed. The food service was quick and the team were ever so friendly. The dishes were all well presented and tasted beautiful!
