Petit Ramblero — Restaurant in Barcelona

PLEASE AVOID, DOES NOT WORTH IT The taste of the food offered was okay, however, THE PRICE WAS CRAZY!!! There was a guy in the Mercado de La Boqueria (from Argentina, if he didn't cheat me on that) soliciting tourists to eat in this restaurant, he scammed tourists with some appealing discount or free beverage (ex: he told us that we would get three glasses of free champagne via the name cards he gave us), but all he promised would be nothing when you actually get into the restaurant!! (there're many similar experiences in Google reviews, which were truly authentic!! - the same tricks) We checked the Google review only after finishing ordering, cuz our mobile internet was not stable at the moment (our first day there), so we could only use the restaurant's wifi for research, but unfortunately that's too late when we found there're so many negative reviews for this restaurant. The food was okay, but DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE PRICE!!! All their food was overpriced, with little protein and small portions. (only the portion of paella was big enough, but the amount of seafood in which was sooooo little, poorly little!!!! only a few small cuttlefish and green peppers, and cost about 40 euros for two people??? RIDICULOUS!! And a glass of sangria without any taste of alcohol cost 6 euros!!! A REAL SCAM of the tourists' money! You can have much better quality food in other restaurants in Barcelona. ###!!!AVOID THEY SCAM YOU. STEEL YOUR MONEY!!!### We walked past this place with a lady on the door talked us in with the offer of 50% off. It looked expensive but with the discount was about what we wanted to spend. We was very sceptical about this offer but did see the lady tell the owner something and point at us. We enjoyed the food it wasn't the best. The mussels was a little chewy and my local Aldi does better ones. Maybe this is because they source there mussels from UK so maybe wasn't the best choice? The prawns was ok, How they were cooked give them a great flavour but the actual prawn again not that fresh. My partner had the seabass and that was absolutely perfect and a good price too. Both of us very impressed with that dish and I wish I had that instead. All the drinks was perfect but no drinks menu was offered. When it come to pay a full price bill was presented and when I mentioned this discount I was told I must be confused as the lady on the door does not speak English. Madly I speak Spanish and spoke to her in Spanish. We were them told they were not McDonald's and could not offer 50% but could offer €7 off the bill or free shot. I was happy for €10 euros off in fairness as we would have tipped as most of the food was good and good drinks but I offered to pay €55 or no more. We should of paid €35. Such a disappointing restaurant. First of all we came after finding it in Mercat de la boqueria, but the seafood was horrible. We ordered the seafood platter and all of the mussels had a terrible smell and taste - hardly appetizing. Secondly, the service was horrible. Our server did not check on us at all, ignored our requests towards him and was overall not friendly towards us in the slightest. Sure we might have taken a bit longer to order, but it was our first night there and we were still trying to figure things out. To top it off, classic tourist trap. First asking us where we are from and then realizing we are US, essentially forcing us to tip them by saying “Gratuities not included” and showing us the number pad to enter how much we want to tip. What made it really bad, two other Spanish-speaking families nearby did not get the same treatment and it was incredibly obvious. If I could give 0 stars for service I would.
