The food was just ok. The avocado cannelloni was really good, and was the first thing that came out. The "bomb" and the patatas bravas are essentially the same dish/same flavors, so you don't need to get both. I'd recommend the bomba as it was a bit more interesting and unique.
We were disappointed that the patatas bravas didn't have romenesco, but was instead DROWNED in mayo! So much mayo, and I am someone who loves extra mayo! But it was just way too much.
The sangria was actually really good.
The cuttlefish was terrible. We were served undercooked, inedible cuttlefish pieces. We tried to eat it, but were horrified. We've both had cuttlefish before, and I've never been served such raw, rancid seafood. The chef really should have checked it before sending it out. We essentially paid 18€ for a fried egg because not one piece of cuttlefish was edible. I wish we sent it back, but our waitress wasn't the friendliest and I didn't want to argue with her over it.
I saw other people ordering the bao, and those looked pretty good.
Another thing to note, Google doesn't seem to know their hours. Said they opened at 11:30. Came by, said to come back at 11:45. Then at 11:45 the staff said they wouldn't start serving lunch until after noon MAYBE. We were finally able to order food at 12:15. Just FYI.
Overall, an expensive, fusion-style place. More Mexican and Asian than Spanish. Some dishes are ok, some...
Read moreWe spent the morning walking and stumbled upon this area with plenty of nice café’s and after looking at menus, we opted for this one. The décor here was beautiful and the manager was very helpful and friendly, unfortunately, he sat us at a table with a not-so-good waiter. It took forever for our server to arrive (which we’ve been experiencing here, so we thought it was the usual) and when he did, he wasn’t helpful at all. We had questions about the menu, how things we cooked, seasoning, etc. He said he didn’t speak English and wasn’t helpful in communicating with me in any form I tried to use to communicate with him.
We placed an order for a few items and then waited… and waited… and waited. Eventually the bao bun we ordered showed up, but it was only one. Same thing with the croquettes, after waiting 20 more minutes after the Bao Bun, one of each of the 2 flavors we ordered came. He never informed us that we were buying only one of each of these things, so as upset and still hungry we were we asked for the check. He said OK and walked away.
I ended up flagging down the manager who brought the check and when I told him what had happened, he apologized repeatedly and took our drinks off the bill, which was very nice of him.
We can say that the food we did get was excellent! Very flavorful and fresh. We wish there was more, we would have ordered more if he had informed...
Read moreComing into the restaurant, the whole vibe and aesthetic was really nice. Don’t get deceived by nice decor. It overall appears as a great establishment. I was solo traveling and as a tourist especially alone, straight off I felt unwelcome. I ordered some drinks and starters. To get another order in was merely impossible. No one cared or noticed me after min. 30 mins of waiting and clearly wanting to order. I only managed to order main dish by having to literally stop the waiter in his track. I was ready to spend my night drinking away at sangrias, reading my book and enjoy some nice food.
I left absolutely frustrated and angry after two hours of “service”: my dirty dishes still right in front of me absolute neglect of me as a customer attitude towards me (and trust me I’m no Karen)
For the first time ever, I told the main waiter as I was paying, that this approach towards customers is unacceptable. All she did was say “they’re busy”, didn’t even apologize. I used to work in gastronomy as well (multiple restaurants with minimum to high standard), that wasn’t busy whatsoever, regular dining evening with a 3/4 full...
