A few days ago, I was outside at lunchtime so I thought I would grab something to eat before going back to work. I started thinking about fast foods... I didn't want to go to McDonald's that day, my last experiences at BK really were bad so no BK for me, please, the KFC nearby was not a good one (it turns out the quality and taste of KFC vary a lot, depending on the venue)... then I saw an ad for Popeyes. I had never been to Popeyes before. Well, they're pretty new in Barcelona. But they're quite trendy so I decided to give it a try. I must say that I usually only eat fruits for lunch, so I didn't want to order too much food. I ordered a Spicy Chicken Sandwich and 3 Spicy wings (emphasis on "Spicy"). My food was ready in a couple of minutes and I could go and eat it on the terrace. My first thought was that the presentation was not good at all: the bun was crushed and a big part of the sandwich was only bread. Then I tried it... And I must say the chicken, a real piece of chicken, not a chicken burger, was really juicy and tasty but... not spicy, to my taste. The bun was really soft and good, not too cold and not too hot. Then I ate the wings: same thing, real chicken (of course, these were wings!), well cooked, tasty but... not spicy, again, to my taste. The venue itself was sobre, like a fast food that it is, the service was nonexistent, of course, and the price, well, that's probably the worst part: I think that €6+ for 3 small wings and a small sandwich in a fast food restaurant with no service is quite expensive. It's not more expensive than KFC and I know that fast food restaurants get more expensive every day but still, I think they could improve that part. But overall, it was not a bad experience at all.

On April 18th at 11:50 AM, we placed an order through the self check-out. Our name appeared on the screen, so we waited patiently. However, after a while, we decided to ask about our order. I showed the staff member our receipt, but she told us in broken English that the payment terminal at the self check-out wasn’t working properly, and that we needed to place a new order. We found this strange, as I showed her clear proof in my banking app and the receipt that the amount had already been deducted from my account.
Nevertheless, I had to pay again. The staff member said the first amount would be refunded within a few working days. It’s now been over a week, and the money (€14.38) still hasn’t been refunded.
Even though it’s not a large amount, I feel it’s important to warn other customers about their poor service. They did not properly check my payment proof, and they kept the faulty self check-out open despite being aware of the issues.
I still hope that Pop Eyes will eventually refund the money, but for now, I definitely would not recommend this location: Rda. de Sant Pere, 17, Eixample, 08010 Barcelona, Spain

Read moreDisappointing experience overall. I’ve visited this location twice recently during my trip to Barcelona, and the quality of service has noticeably declined since my last visit. Both times, the food took a long time to arrive, and items from my order were missing on each visit.
When I approached the collection point to request the missing items, I was made to feel as though I was in the wrong even though the missing items were clearly listed on the receipt. On my most recent visit, I was told that the last of my extra wings had run out and that more were being prepared. The staff requested I return to the collection point a fourth time just to pick up a single wing. Good customer service would have been the missing item being brought over when ready especially after the multiple trips I had already made to the counter due to receiving an incomplete order.
Overall, the restaurant seems poorly managed with dirty tables being somewhat normal, and communication is a real issue here. A disappointing drop in standards from what I have previously experienced on...
