Really disappointing experience today. I visited with a friend and we ordered nachos, chicken fingers, and croquettes to share.
The nachos were described on the menu as “with mince, tomato, cheese, and jalapeño.” However, when they arrived, they came with an unspecified mince topping and a large amount of sweetcorn. After waiting 15 minutes to get the waitress’s attention, I was finally able to ask about it when our next dish was brought out. I was then told the mince was a mix of pork and beef. As I don’t eat pork, I couldn’t continue with the dish.
The chicken fingers arrived with fries that were cold, and again there was no check-back from staff, so I had no opportunity to raise this. Our third dish, the croquettes, never even arrived.
When asking for the bill, I explained that I wasn’t comfortable paying for the nachos as they weren’t as described on the menu, and I couldn’t eat them due to the pork. The waitress asked the manager to speak with us, but he was dismissive and rude. He stated that because we had eaten “some” (less than a quarter, as the dish was shared), and hadn’t notified them immediately (which was impossible due to the lack of service), they would not remove it from the bill.
To make matters worse, when it came to paying, we were left waiting a further 5–10 minutes as staff continued to ignore us.
Overall, poor service, incorrect menu descriptions, and rude management made this a very...
Read moreNo recommendation for this touristic restaurant.👎🏻 Yesterday, we went to this place for the second time..the first time we had the ham croquettes, salmon and patatas bravas and thought the food was okay. However, yesterday it wasn‘t ok. My mom ordered the octopus. The octopus came with a mixture of strange kind of cheese and potatoes. It smelled very intensive. My mom tried it and was very sceptical if the octopus was still good..she asked the waitress to smell and try it. the waitress took the plate back and went to the kitchen. Minutes later she came back with the menu card and said „you were absolutely right, lady“.. so the octocupus wasn‘t good anymore☹️ my mom immediately got sick because of the food and we weren’t hungry anymore.. my wagyu burger wasn’t very good either and because we didn’t trust the kitchen anymore, we didn‘t want to eat the other tapas, which we ordered. Instead of a regretful apolgy or any kind of compensation for this big faux-pas, we had to pay everything, except the foul octopus..Meanwhile, the waiter already recommended the octopus to the couple sitting on the table next to us.😳 Conclusion of our visit: The restaurant doesn‘t care about clients and shows an inappropriate/ ignorant reaction. They just want to make money..that might be the reason why the restaurant is never fully booked. Restaurant to avoid if you want to have quality food...
Read moreGastronomical! That's the way to describe this restaurant. It's just off the "Rambla Catalunya" in Eixample area. Restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating. As expected the indoor seating is quite expansive and has a really good vibe going. Crowd on this night was mixed, ranging from Girl groups, Boy groups, families, and Solos like moi!
I started off with the local beer ala Estrela Damm and some green olives, then for tapas, some smoked sardine on sour dough toast followed with hard sheep's cheese and toasted bread with tomatoes. What an absolute delight! Never had "bread" melt while eating it 'cos that's how this tasted. Yummy!
Main course was grilled seabass with potatoes and almonds...just like that! No sauce but just the flavors of the fish...Nice and delicate! Tasty!
Well, keeping the sweetest for last, I settled for the Gerona and ice cream...why not? May as well...if the food is good, don't feel guilty but just experience all its offering ...yes..calories and all!
So if u are in Barcelona and have some time to visit then Pura Brasa Rambla Catalunya is a...
