Tapa Tapa Rambla de Catalunya — Restaurant in Barcelona

Me and my aunt went out of our way to visit Tapa Tapa, as online advice upheld high praises of the restaurant. We were immediately greeted with rudeness, waived off and ignored when we clearly were standing there for 5-10 minutes. The server who waived us off addressed guests who came after us, and then did not show remorse when we corrected her. We finally got ahold of a different server and asked to sit at a table outside. We were told yes but then left to wait at a dirty table for 15 minutes, having to flag down a different waitress, who accommodated us but then failed to check on us after we ordered and only one plate (out of two plates) was rudely dropped off by the previous server that waived us off. We waited 30 minutes, finished our only drink order, and finally when we got the attention of a server and asked how long it would be, he said, “it’s coming” and we sat for 10-15 minutes longer (clearly the order was never made). When it arrived, it was badly burnt, and almost inedible. We pointed out that it had been 45 minutes and it was burnt, only received a one-word “sorry” with a condescending look on the server’s face, and weren’t even offered another chance to order another drink after our glasses were taken. Other guests around us were also expressing dissatisfaction of the same caliber, as it was shocking how every single server was rude and disrespectful. It was busy, but I’ve worked in a handful of restaurants, and it wasn’t THAT busy to warrant this kind of behavior. Disgusting, vile, ruined hen party meal.

Hen party. We were booked here by our rep. If only I knew then what I know now.

We were advised that we had been booked at a popular restaurant, but unfortunately, the meal was a complete disaster. The food was disgusting, and no one at the table could eat it. It was extremely embarrassing for us as we could see the disappointment on everyone’s faces.

The service was very slow, when we asked to see the menu, the staff refused and informed us that we had no choice but to accept what was being served (as we were on the group menu). We said that this is okay as we are not fussy eaters, but requested to avoid seafood (as many of the group dislike it), we were continuously served seafood dishes such as crab, tuna, and squid.

Not even that, The food seemed as though it had been prepared in advance and left sitting for a while, as it had a skin on it, which was horrid. I felt as though we were a hen party we were thrown out slop/leftovers. Calamari was the only dish that people were half happy to see, but no, this was pure chewy with no taste.

We sent the food back untouched, and I had to tell the staff to stop sending food out and skip to dessert, as no one was eating the meal and it was getting more and more embarrassing. This left us with 17 hungry girls heading into the bar crawl with very little to eat (only the wine at the meal). Totally ruined our...

I am extremely disappointed with my visit to this restaurant. The service was not just bad, it was downright unacceptable. The staff member who served us was incredibly rude and disrespectful. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with an indifference that I have never experienced in a restaurant before.

Our server clearly did not feel the need to be friendly or make any effort whatsoever. When we asked for recommendations, we were met with a snippy response, as if we were a burden. Taking our order was also accompanied by an irritated look and eye-rolling.

To make matters worse, it took forever for our food to arrive, and when it finally did, it was cold and sloppily presented. When we politely complained, we were simply told not to make a fuss and that the food was perfectly fine. No apology, no effort to improve the situation – nothing.

This experience completely ruined our evening. I will definitely never come back and I strongly advise anyone against visiting this restaurant. Such disrespectful behavior towards guests is absolutely...
