Very bad dining experience. We ate tapas at this restaurant, first of all the prices on the menu were way above the average tapas prices in Barcelona, but we as tourists didn't really mind otherwise we would have left the restaurant before ordering. All the food was served very quickly and as seen by the picture the tapas portions were pitifully small compared to the prices on its menu. The garlic shrimp and cuttlefish potato salad was tasty, the fried chicken strips were awful, basically just very thick flour and oddly seasoned chicken, but probably just it didn’t match my personal taste. The most unpleasant part was that the prices on the bill did not match the menu. The pricing, which was already too high on the menu, became even more implausibly high on the final bill (we paid 75 for the things in the pictures along with 6 shrimps that are not showing in it). We asked the waiter about this, and his sequence of opening the menu and flipping to the undetectable "15%" extra charge in the corner was overly skillful. When I said you should remind your guests before they are seated, he ignored me even more skillfully with a fake closure greeting and left. If you look closely at Google Review you will see that they had the same scam a year earlier and they did not adjust their pricing as they replied. All in all, I’m not saying the price too high is a problem, but is that the hidden scam and the attitude that takes the tourists as fool is unpleasant. With that you’ll not have return...

I was in El Tros to have a dinner with my wife on Sat Dec 28, 2024 around 6pm. My server was Allesio. I ordered fried baby squid, olives, fried cubed potatoes with sauce on the side ( garlic sauce & spicy sauce), sea bream with eggplant , bottle of mineral water and two Sangria’s. First were Sangria’s. Not too sour and not too sweet. Not too strong and not too weak. Just right amount of alcohol. Well balanced. Fried squid? Juicy and tender. Olives? I wouldn’t be surprised if they get awarded only for the olives. Sea bream. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Eggplant. Salty, sweet and sour; neither of ‘em standing out, well in harmony. Potatoes, don’t even mention it. Soooo gooood. Phenomenal food and excellent service here in El Tros.
Nota Bene. All of the people here are nice and friendly, especially Allesio. I want to offer my personal thanks to him for his service. I asked him to get a taxi for me near the end of my meal. I was looking for him when I was out to leave the restaurant. He was actually trying to get a taxi for me. He explained to me he couldn’t get through as there was no answer when he called taxi companies. Two...
Read moreAs this was my first trip to Barcelona, and a hastily planned one at that, my partner and I were nearly in a rush to find a place to eat dinner on our last day there. Fortunately, El Tros delivered.
We came to the restaurant and had a view of the menu, which contained several dishes we wanted to try. We were greeted in front by a very kind staff member whose name I unfortunately cannot recall, but big props to you for taking care of us! Despite the language barrier, everyone was able to make themselves clear, and staff was generally very helpful and ready.
The food can really only be described as "just really good". We started out with main dishes, which disappeared rather quickly due to our appetites. After that, we had a serving of fried chicken with honey-mustard sauce, and we topped off our experience here with some soft and cool ice cream.
This place has left a very good impression on us, both individually and as a representation of Barcelona as a city. If this is the standard upheld, then consider us returning guests next time we're...
