We had made a reservation for a party of five, taking into account the birthday celebration of one of our friends. To our disappointment, upon arriving at the restaurant, the waiter appeared unaware of our reservation and seated us as regular patrons. Our anticipation for a special experience for our friend's birthday went unfulfilled, despite having conveyed this information to the establishment five hours earlier.

Our culinary selections included prawns flambeed with garlic, baby octopus with a basil pesto infusion, salmon accompanied by stir-fried vegetables, and a seafood paella. The prawns exhibited tenderness and an alluring aromatic oil, albeit marred by a somewhat bitter garlic infusion. The baby octopus impressed with its well-balanced basil pesto flavor and tender texture, while the salmon, while tender and juicy, regrettably contained bones. Regrettably, the paella, the final dish, left much to be desired. Its consistency erred on the side of soupiness, resembling a risotto, and the dish suffered from an excessive saltiness.

Our interactions with the staff were regrettably less than pleasant. One particular waiter exhibited impatience in taking our orders, lingering by our side even after we had requested time to decide. Furthermore, our table had not been set properly. Strikingly, the same waiter displayed a cooperative and affable demeanor with local patrons.

My three female friends and I went to this restaurant this Friday, March 15th, to buy cigarettes and have one last drink before heading to the nightclub (around midnight). A group of 5/6 men, aged 20/25, were clearly drunk and playing roulette on some sort of arcade machine. They immediately made my girlfriend and her friends very uncomfortable with their lingering stares and inappropriate remarks, thinking we wouldn't understand spanish. Since the cigarette machine was right next to the roulette, I positioned myself between them and my girlfriend and her friends. I started getting increasingly strong hit to the back of my head, right in front of the server who didn't react at all. After making a few remarks that didn't get a response from the servers and only amused the 5/6 young men who were enjoying hitting me, I decided to leave without saying anything. Being alone against 5/6 other men, and seeing the server literally ignoring what was happening just 30cm in front of him, I didn't think my chances of getting out of there unscathed were very good. So, I don't know about the quality of the restaurant for eating, but late at night, the clientele inside seems to lack basic social skills, and you can't rely on the staff to act promptly. I had really nice patatas bravas at the restaurant, they were excellent! However, a couple points I wasn’t pleased with that lead me to decided not to go back is the service and the prawns. I noted that during my meal, the manager asked every table but mine how the food was going, unsure why he skipped me. Unfortunately, my prawns were extremely underdone and I was hoping to get them put back on but since I wasn’t asked I decided to leave it and settle the bill. Upon settling the bill, I explained to the waitress that my prawns were not well done enough which meant I only ate two. She advised that this is just how they are cooked in Barcelona and if I want them well done I need to say, but ‘they don’t like it like that here’. I’ve been in Barcelona a few days and this is the only place that I felt I might just catch listeria from due to underdone prawns.
