Another bad experience, I ordered fruit and it’s poor quality. If I go into the store - the sign says do not touch. The produce is never examined. I got some tomatoes (para hoy) - 10 days later and the tomatoes are still not ripe!!! This is disrespectful to customers to serve customers in this way or allow customers to touch the produce. Asking customers not to touch the produce but not train the staff is very poor form.
I’ve bought stuff in here many times. 1 out of every 3 times I’ve ordered the price charged is incorrect. not once has the error been in my favor. It is always in favor of the store. It is many euros of difference - each time. Last time they charged me 46 euros instead of 25 euros for a single item. Today through Glovo they substituted 2 salads totalling 520 grams instead of 950 grams and managed to charge me the same price for 1/2 the quantity. This has happened more than ten times. Shopping here requires a deep review of the bill and holding the store accountable. No wonder they’ve successfully built a chain of stores around the city with the built in profit margin. This is not about a salad but the many errors that always happen here in favor of the store. Another few months and the overcharging continues. It’s a consistent experience.
The owners don’t eat this stuff at their own home. Why would they serve it to...
Read moreBeware of this place. My wife had money and credit cards stolen out of her handbag from someone sitting at the table directly behind us. My wife hooked her handbag on her chair for about 15 minutes to make room on the table for plates, and in that brief time the person sitting right behind her unzipped it, stole from it, and left the restaurant and charged $4,000 (euros) on my wife's AMEX. My wife received a fraud alert on her phone which prompted her to check her purse. When we advised our server, he seemed unfazed and made no effort to assist us. We should have known something was off - we were distracted several times by the wait staff for no apparent reason (a bartender came up to check to see if I liked the way he prepared a standard cocktail, which was very odd). We think the restaurant staff was in on it and seated this thief behind our table for...

The general public tends to balk at the price of drinks in places like Monaco or St. Moritz. What many do not understand is what comes with the price: service that seeks to answer “yes” to any client request (filling the hotel pool with milk for an hour, for a price of course, as example). The prices therefore help provide a more pleasing and harmonious atmosphere, helping things flow for any client.
And then we come to Barcelona, and establishments seeking to present themselves as upscale/luxury. Camarasa has been on my radar to try since it opened, and, without testing it first, I suggested it for a group meeting. I’m certain it will not lose a cent because of this review, but I am certain, given the number of well dressed girls around us, that only the ignorant and those with parent’s money to waste will choose this place. Among the numerous failings (I was alarmed to see the cashier walk from behind the counter to serve us when I searched for service), our waiter’s insistence that we pay the bill halfway through our meal, even after we asked for more from the menu, along with a refusal to allow each of us to pay separately.
I felt embarrassed by my recommendation.
