Been there many times: the food is good, but the service is horrible! The staff is not interested in retaining clientele, or being simply nice, and waiting time is always long. Yesterday, around 14:30, there was one guy making the arepas and another one walking around. I waited 10 minutes to make an order (there was no line) before I gave up and left because the guy making the arepas didn't even bother to call his colleague to collect our order or to explain anything. I asked for someone or some information 3 times, and the guy making the arepa also didn't even reply, just glanced and ignored. I would recommend any other arepa place than this, because they treat their clients badly every time and seem desorganized. They only make money because it's close to Sagrada Família and most clients may be tourists who will...
Read moreThis place is amazing. We ordered two combos. One was the arepas and one was the empanada. The empanada was unbelievable. The fried dough it was in was so crispy but also like chewy soft inside. And the filling was so flavorful-we got chicken and cheese. We also got the little cheese rolls things that were rolled and fried in plantain flour, they were sooo delicious…a perfect mix of crunchy/soft melty cheese and salty/sweet. The service is soooo friendly. It’s counter service but the worker behind the counter came out several times from behind the counter to see how we liked the food since we told him it was our first time trying Venezuelan food. The place is very clean, a great value for the amount of food you get and so close to Sagrada Familia (we stopped in after our tour there). Highly...
Read moreWhat a disappointment! Been to a few Venezuelan places in Barcelona and this is by far the worst.
First of all for the food, second for the service and last it's quite expensive for what you get.
Food seemed made with premade ingredients: hard and old for the most. The meat tested like it was drenched in vinegar and the cheese just reheated and hard. The signature arepa was definitely the worst I've had.
The service was also not the best, not friendly at all and very self service, you have to order I side and then they shout your name.
Probably being so closed to Sagrada makes this a place touristy where staff is not interested in retaining clientele.
I'm so surprised on the good reviews...maybe I came on a bad day but for sure I won't...
