I was just telling a client how my experience was from my September trip to Barcelona Spain. This was one of the first horrible experiences that I had. This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel, the H10 Cubic. My mother, aunt and I were seated in the back upstairs portion of the restaurant. When we arrived, we were the first and only people that were set in that area. A male waiter came over and poured us each a glass of water from an already opened bottle. When the waitress came over, we told her that we needed a minute to look over the menu. A group of people came in and they were sat across from us. At this time we had questions about some of the things on the menu that we were thinking of getting. Other group was about six people and they were asking questions, and she was answering them and laughing and giggling so it took a while for her to come back to us. In the meantime, another group of people were sat across from us. When she finally gets to us, we started asking questions like what’s a croquet, what’s in it? The waitress seemed annoyed by this question and simply responded. It’s a croquetta like a croquetta.. I had to tell her we’re American, and we don’t have these, our croquettes are different. I guess my statement had upset her, because when she returned again to take our order, she brought her manager with her who stood in the background, but I saw her walking and talking with her as she approached our table. Nonetheless, we ordered a few tapas selections. We expected all of the food to come out about the same time if they were ready but that’s not what happened. We received one dish and had to wait until we were just about finished with that dish before we received another and I think we ordered about six plates of tapas items. At first we were being patient about it but then we were like what’s going on with our food. By this time, another group of people were seated in our area. When we asked, she told us she was trying to create an experience for us. At some point, I started to get acid reflux after eating the prawn and we constantly tried to flag the waitress down to get her to get us water. She kept putting her finger up and continued to walk and serve the other tables. So eventually, I got up and went to the bar and asked for water because my chest was burning. I downed a glass of water at the bar, and immediately regretted it because I ran straight to the restroom to throw up all the food that I had just consumed. By the time I got back to the table we had another plate of food but I didn’t want to eat anything else so I just sat there while my mom and my aunt continued to eat. Now all the other tables are leaving and we are still waiting for the rest of our food. Once my mom and aunt finished, we were still waiting and trying to get her attention so that we could get our bill. She came over to us after she had finished checking out the last table, making it so that we were the last to get our bill. When she came to the table, she rudely told us that it took so long because she was talking to the manager because one of us went to the bar and complained about not getting any water. SMH We paid the bill and were the last group to leave...

My wife and I are vacationing in Barcelona - the last leg on our European trip. The restaurant was recommended by our concierge at El Palace Hotel.
We stayed with rather typical tapas offerings, including the Iberian ham paired with the tomato bread. We also added the anchovies, the Podrano peppers and the fried potatoes. We followed all this with their seafood paella (which included the best octopus I’ve ever had). Topped all this with a little gelato.
The food was very good, but what really made the evening so special was the total package. Service was friendly and extremely attentive - something I found not the norm in our travels. They seem to employ a team approach as many different people visited our table frequently, though not obtrusively. We even enjoyed nice long chats with the hostess and some of the performers.
Performers, you ask? Yes - employed by the restaurant are several singers, musicians and dancers. Most of their genre was rumba-flamenca, but they did not hesitate to participate in a song or dance with one of the guests. The performances were engaging, moving all over the restaurant and I must say it was most entertaining. The talent level and enthusiasm of these performers was very high.
By the time we left, the entire restaurant was singing and dancing, and the atmosphere was that of a family wedding (on the good side of the family).
I believe the restaurant was mostly filled by locals with just a few tourists, but we all felt as if we were part of the Tracatra family.
I would highly recommend Tracatra for a memorable...
Read morewhen in barcelona do as the catalans do, so we had a night of tapas and salsa dancing. when i say i was blown away we ordered oysters, burrata salad, steak tartare, and ‘rositit’ cannelloni.
oyster: accompanied with a merlot vinaigrette, this was a great start to the meal.
burrata salad: when i say this is the best burrata salad i have ever had in my life… wow. INCREDIBLE. i love burrata, but this was something else. covered in a pistachio and pesto sauce, and served on a bed of roasted shallots and tomatoes, this was exquisite. i have thought about this every day since.
steak tartare: again, wow. this was mixed in front of us as soon as it was served (unfortunately i have no footage of this, it all happened so fast). served with tortilla chips, this was amazing. i have never had steak tartare like this, and i think it will be hard to find something like this again.
‘rositit’ cannelloni: this was another lovely plate, and a lovely hearty way to end the meal. two big cannelloni tubes stuffed with rotisserie chicken, and topped with cheese. i could have easily had a whole plate of this. very yummy. this was probably the most underwhelming dish of the meal, which really speaks volumes for how impressive this whole meal was.
this was an incredible experience. there was live music, singing, and dancing. this is everything i’d ask for from a catalan restaurant. amazing service and food, with an unmatchable atmosphere. definitely a night to remember i can’t wait...
