Restaurante Casa Alemana — Restaurant in Benidorm

I spent the winter in Benidorm and this was my go-to cafe for a simple tostadas con tomate Spanish breakfast with a coffee and brandy to start the day (not every day!).

This cafe caters for all tastes and is popular with locals as well as tourists. They have a good cocktail menu and the cooked breakfasts are popular.

Service can be a bit hit and miss insofar as getting the attention of waiting staff to place an order, although that's the only flaw.

The tostada con tomate (€1.90) is a simple dish and they are generous with the freshly crushed tomatoes on nicely toasted baguettes. A touch of sea salt and extra virgin olive oil and it really hits the spot.

Paired with a coffee and a generous glug of brandy with a biscuit (€2.80) rounds it off nicely.

It's great value at €4.70 and you won't find anywhere else that matches it for quality. Other cafes nearby charge at least double that and you are not getting any more bang for your buck.

The toilets and kitchen are clean, which is always a good benchmark for every cafe and restaurant.

You can quite easily pass an hour or so here watching the world go by, and the staff will never rush you to free a table for others.

Mittlerweile ist Casa Alemana unser Stammlokal geworden. Aber nicht nur wegen des leckeren Essen, sondern auch wegen dem freundlichen Personal und den Besitzern Alice und Dennis. Beide führen ihr Restaurant sehr professionell und einem freundlichen Miteinander mit dem Personal. Auch wenn einige Monate zwischen unseren Besuchen liegen, erkennt man uns immer direkt und man freut sich, dass wir wieder da sind. Im jetzigen Urlaub waren wir relativ oft hier essen. Egal ob es das englische Frühstück ist, das Tagesmenü oder auch andere Gerichte aus der Karte, es schmeckt alles sehr lecker und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt und dies schon seit Jahren. Auch wenn man etwas auf sein Essen warten muss, weiß man aber, es wird alles frisch zubereitet. Wir freuen uns jetzt schon wieder auf unseren nächsten Urlaub im Dezember, wenn wir alles wiedersehen und wir unsere Lieblingsgerichte wieder freundlich...
