Paid a visit here last week being the closest Indian restaurant to Old Town in Benidorm. Certainly wouldn't rush back unfortunately.
Really hot and stuffy in the restaurant sandwiched between a souvenir shop and an ice cream parlour.
Service was unusual - the gentleman wasn't very personal and didn't appear to have a lot of experience serving customers in a restaurant environment - unfortunately coming across as kind of intimidating staring at you eating.
Food wasn't great - the starters were quite pleasant but the mixed starter priced considerably higher than the rest of the starters was disappointing. Just 4 onion bajis and 4 chicken pakora with a couple of pieces of lettuce thrown on top. Normally a mixed starter comprises these plus lamb kebab and chicken tikka, but not the end of the world.
4 of us ordered 4 totally different curries. Unfortunately all 4 came out looking exactly the same. Same colour, same garnish, same texture. When trying them they all tasted the same and had the consistency of watery soup.
The patia which is supposed to be sweet and sour tasted the same to me as a frozen meal from a supermarket. Bland, no flavour, no spice, no vegetables, no garlic.
The rice was fine although we found a hair in the bottom of the one bowl. The naans were awful, like little supermarket frozen circle pitta breads.
Really disappointing experience unfortunately considering the high quality of other places such as the Chulo Lounge and Cafe India which I'd really suggest instead of here.
I'd hope with the great location they have improvements can be made so it will be an attractive Indian restaurant but unfortunately it put a sour end...
Read moreI would leave zero stars if I could. The food is mediocre for the price and to make it even worse it is not even close to authentic. You should not call yourself a Indian restaurant. This is worst indian restaurant in Benidorm and Alicante. The waitress asked us to wait for 10 minutes since they were not opened, so we decided to wait in the restaurant. Within few minutes she asked us if we are ready to order. We ordered starters with chicken and fish (which can take at least 10 minutes to prepare), but we got the dish within a minute, so I believe they have everything precooked and they microwave and serve it. Indian curry dishes were just in the sweet sauce like honey or sweet jam, even we had ordered a spicy dish and specifically asked to make it spicy. You will not become a authentic indian restaurant with having saffron colored dining covers, you should improve your...
Read moreI recently ordered a curry dish with chicken, but unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. The dish consisted of 4-5 small, incredibly dry pieces of chicken submerged in the sauce. While the sauce itself was decent, the underwhelming portion of meat left me unsatisfied; it was both insufficient in quantity and excessively dry. To make matters worse, I was charged over 7 euros for just two small pieces of naan bread, which I found to be overpriced.
In total, I ended up paying more than 40 euros for these two small dishes, and I must admit, it didn't align with my expectations. This restaurant isn't quite my preferred choice when it comes to...
