Cafe la villa, — Restaurant in Bilbao

Despite the heat we walked to the Cafe la Villa for a late lunch and we were not disappointed! You can feel from the quality of the food and from the excellent service that this couple loves what they do and that they take pride in it. Instead of letting the menu speak for itself (and have the non-Spanish-speaking guests struggle), Aitor takes the time and explains all the dishes with a smile (and google translate) :-). The food was served quickly and was delicious. He knows how to deal with the tourists who refuse the dessert because "I can't eat anything else!" - by proposing a "poquito" dessert which turned out to be a selection of delicacies that we tremendously enjoyed. Just forget about the calories! :-D

Fuimos a pasar unos días por Bilbao y típico que buscas en Google un restaurante donde comer, pues encontramos este, estaba cerca de donde estábamos y tenía muy buenos comentarios y las fotos me parecieron de un sitio muy casero y cuidado, así que decidimos ir. Sí que es verdad que está un poco escondido y nos costó un poco encontrarlo, pero valió realmente la pena. Los platos están hechos realmente con mucho cariño y esmero, están deliciosos, hacía mucho tiempo que no me comía platos como estos, se nota que quien cocina le gusta mucho su trabajo y le pone mucho amor. El arroz estaba perfecto, en su punto, ni muy hecho ni poco hecho (y el calamar también, y eso que cuesta encontrarle el punto). El panaché de verduras estaba muy rico también, a ella le encantó. El solomillo simplemente brutal, pensábamos que picaría por lo de "a la pimienta" pero realmente estaba perfecto, no lo había probado nunca así, solo dire que tanto en el arroz como en el solomillo me terminé el pan de tanto mojarlo en la salsa. El solomillo además estaba en su punto y muy jugosito, nos encantó a los 2. Los pasteles es algo ya de otro nivel, saben mezclar muy bien los sabores con el helado y queda un punto estupendo que sabe a gloria. Recomiendo mucho este lugar si quieres degustar buenos platos y estar en un lugar tranquilo y sentirte como en casa. Nos comentó el hombre que las hamburguesas estaban muy ricas que por ahora solo las hacen a domicilio, la próxima vez será :)!. Comentar que tienen la limpieza del COVID-19 a rajatabla, lavando y desinfectando hasta el último rincón, un 10. Muchas gracias por habernos hecho sentir la sensación de estar como en casa, el mimo que le ponéis a todo y la amabilidad....

Amazing hidden gem in Bilbao. Food was fantastic and although we dont speak Spanish service was divine. They did their best to keep us informed about food.

Everything we ate was delicious. We tried seafood rice , spaghetti with mushrooms, cod and meat. All was great. San Sebastian cake was amazing.

We came with our 6 years old daughter and she was happy with food as well :)

Would highly recommend thid place to anyone...
