Listán Wine Tasca — Restaurant in Cádiz

It was my last day in Cádiz and I was hoping for a light, relaxed dinner as a little farewell. The ambience was lovely — wine bottles quietly aging on the shelves, almost like they’d been napping there for decades. I sat by the window with a charming view of the square outside — the perfect spot to unwind and watch the world go by.

I ordered the cheese set with a glass of cava. The cheeses sounded promising but were just okay — nothing memorable. The cava, on the other hand, was quite good, which inspired me to ask for a second glass… and I’m still waiting for it. (If anyone spots it wandering around, please send it my way!)

Now, about the service… let’s just say the waitress wasn’t having her best day. I hadn’t even sat down before she was already asking for my order — no time to even glance at the menu.

I cannot comment on the food because we ended up leaving after being ignored for 30 minutes. The server did begrudgingly take our drink order shortly after we sat and then proceeded to take food orders for customers that came in well after we did. After 30 minutes he did finally come over to take our order but by the time that happened they were out of what we wanted so we paid for our drinks and left. We ended up going to Piola for dinner where the service was fantastic and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Maybe the food at Listan is good but the service...

Very disappointed with this tasca, everything is very expensive and the quality is not good. The service was not attentive at all (UNFRIENDLY TO FOREIGNERS), and we were quite disappointed to find such a central place in the historic center of Cadiz with such poor quality and expensive prices. The wines are prohibitive in general and we did not enjoy at all the long waiting times. Waiters do not speak English and do not make any efforts to welcome foreigners in the place.
