We had a really poor experience at this restaurant last night. First thing I noticed the dirty surrounding tables had not been cleared after people left. The restaurant was not busy it was a Sunday at 9:30 pm. I ordered a glass of prosecco and a coke zero and I had to remind the waiter twice that i ordered a coke zero. My boyfriend ordered a glass of beer and it was half full. Main courses were just awful. I ordered lemon chicken escalopes and I was presented with a plain chicken breast cut into four pieces with sauce poured over it and about 5 roasted potatoes. My boyfriend ordered the Meatballs with creamy potato. There was no creamy potato on the plate and just the same few roast potatoes as me thrown onto the plate. We asked for dessert and the waiter handed us the menu. He returned 10 minutes later and we asked for two homemade tiramisu. He then told us they have no tiramisu because it is the end of the week!! This doesn't sound so homemade to me!! We didn't get dessert and asked for the bill. The waiter brought the bill and stood over us with the card machine. My boyfriend paid the bill and before we left I checked the receipt and they tried to charge me €25 for my glass of prosecco. Charging me the price of a bottle Instead of a glass! I alerted the waiter and he refunded us straight away. AVOID this restaurant terrible food and terrible service. Please stop scamming people of their hard...
Read moreI recently dined at Casa Cánovas, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The Italian cuisine they offer is simply divine. We tried three dishes and a dessert, each one better than the last. The flavors were authentic, and the presentation was perfect.
The wine selection was excellent, and the bottle we chose complemented our meal beautifully. Additionally, the staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, making our evening even more enjoyable.
While I am giving Casa Cánovas five stars for their fantastic food and service, I have a small suggestion. The menu card could benefit from a more sophisticated design. Updating it could enhance the overall dining experience and even allow for a slight increase in menu prices, which I believe would be justified by the quality of the food and service.
Overall, I highly recommend Casa Cánovas for anyone looking to enjoy top-notch Italian cuisine in a...
Read moreWe wanted this place to be amazing, but it missed on several points. Arguably, lunch is the big meal of the day and we went for Saturday lunch. There were two Secondi (carne) dishes on the menu and they were out of the one we ordered. Instead of focaccia and grissini, we got some stale bread (they were out of focaccia though it was prominently printed on the menu). We ordered a starter course, pasta for the primi, and settled on the chicken scallopini since they were out of albóndigas - all to share. Our pasta came out first, the canneloni, which was very good, but not €18 good. Then we got our carpaccio, also good though it needed a bit of salt. Then we received our scallopini which was supposed to be traditional with sage and lemon. It was overcooked and served with purple potato gnocchi in a saffron crème sauce. Strange. Tiramisu was a huge portion but would have benefitted from some rum. Not sure we...
