I am deeply disappointed by the discriminatory treatment my friends and I experienced at this establishment on our visit yesterday night. As a group of Spanish individuals, we were denied entry by the doorman and doorwoman despite there being no valid reason provided. They claimed that we did not have a table reservation and that the venue was full. However, we observed at least 20-25 people of German, Austrian, Swiss, and other Northern European nationalities being allowed in without any hassle. We inquired about the apparent double standard, and the doorwoman stated that she personally knew all the individuals she let in and confirmed their reservations simply by looking at their faces. This blatant racial profiling left us feeling discriminated against solely because of our Spanish background. It was disheartening to witness such preferential treatment based on race, especially when we were aware that people were being admitted without proof of reservation. Interestingly, an Austrian gentleman noticed our disappointment and approached us. He admitted that he did not have a reservation either, but he was able to help us gain entry by speaking to the doorwoman in German. The establishment was already overcrowded, well beyond the supposed limit of 80 people. To our surprise, there was not a single South European individual inside except for our group, suggesting a deliberate exclusion of certain ethnicities. At the point where we threatened to involve the authorities and take legal action against this discriminatory behavior, the establishment suddenly offered us free drinks as a gesture of appeasement. This indicated a clear understanding on their part of the unjust practices being employed. It is disconcerting that they would resort to racism as a basis for their business model. We are committed to reporting this incident to ensure that activity licenses and permits are not granted to owners who engage in discriminatory practices. Discrimination has no place in our society, and we believe it is crucial to raise awareness about such issues to promote fairness, equality, and a truly inclusive environment. It is our hope that necessary actions will be taken to rectify this situation and prevent it from happening again...
Read moreQuite possibly the worst service I have ever received in my lifetime. We have visited Ritzi Restaurant for years and often enjoyed the Lounge Bar upstairs also, however apparently the bar upstairs is completely separate from the restaurant and has new management. We had barely walked towards the bar (party of 3 - with my mother and grandmother) and we were shouted at by the guy behind the bar to go back and wait at the door to be seated, this immediately put us off - similar to the review below. The guy didn’t rush over to see us despite the bar being entirely empty, quite literally we were the only people there. There was no welcome whatsoever, he then proceeded to faff about with a reservation list and a temperature gun whilst we stood there like children that had just been told off. We were midway through being eventually seated and we simply just turned around and walked off. Absolutely appalling service. Do not visit Ritzi Lounge Bar. I spoke with the restaurant manager downstairs and he confirmed that they have had previous complaints about the Bar Manager upstairs but assured me the Lounge Bar is ran separately to the restaurant downstairs. We are not ones to leave a review but couldn’t not on this occasion. Rude, arrogant staff and the bar was empty - it’s now...
Read moreThis review is for the Lounge Bar only. Booked a table for my birthday June 10 and on arrival was met my the managaress who was extremely rude to me. She said that she had cancelled my table because on my weekday visit a few days prior, my friend & I had booked a table but left without buying a drink. On that day there were 4 other people in the entire place (the manager was not in on that day!). We were contemplating whether to stay as the place was literally dead when our friend text to say her plane had arrived an hour early so we had to leave to collect her anyway. Due to this the booked table on my birthday was cancelled without any notice to me. We were given a table for 2 people right at the back. When we asked for another chair because there was 3 of us we were told we couldn’t have one. I told the waitress that the managers rudeness on arrival had really upset me especially as today was my birthday. She was absolutely lovely & brought a glass with a small cake & candle which was kind & I appreciated. However my birthday night had already been ruined by the manageress’s complete &...
