I booked a table at La Chancha y los 20 based on a recommendation from the internet. The restaurant's atmosphere was perfect, exactly as recommended. My family and I ordered 3 steaks with vegetables and a bottle of wine. The food was fantastic, well worth a return visit if you like meat. All our excitement ended when after finishing our meal we received the bill on the table which we did not ask for and no one even asked if we wanted to pay. A moment later a waiter came asking if we wanted to pay by card or cash. I replied that we did not want to pay yet because we still had half a bottle of wine that we wanted to finish. Within 5 minutes another waiter came and asked again if we were going to pay, so I told him that we did not ask for the bill and that we still had half a bottle of wine. At that time I had the impression that after finishing our meal the staff wanted to quickly throw us out of the restaurant even though there were empty tables around and we still had half a bottle of wine. At that moment, our enthusiasm for the restaurant turned into a desire to get out of the establishment as soon as possible and never return. The staff achieved what they wanted. So if someone wants to eat excellent food at above-average prices with service that does not correspond to even one star, then this...
Read moreOverall too expensive compared to the other restos.
The meat was good, what u expect from a good steak. Not super special, BUT too expensive for what u get especially a sidedish like fries o veggies costs 5 euro extra. The fries where uncooked big potato lumps.
Worst is that they charge you 3 euro for 2 pieces of bread, not a bread basket, no 2 little cuts of baguette. No butter, no oil with it nothing. On top of that it is not listed in their online menu (which they tell u to use)that they charge for the bread...when you confront the waiter that we did not ask for it he gets very rude on to use that its in their menu and he gets a paper one from inside and pushes it in our faces.
Overall a very bad experience that has a long way to go in terms of customer service.
Do yourself and your wallet a favour and go to a place where they care about the food and...
Read moreWe found the service a little bit cool on arrival but things got better when a young waiter was allocated to look after us. We shared a Burrantina to start, which was divine. Creamy onctious burrata (mozzarella) on a paste of sun dried tomatoes with salad and dressing. We didn’t want it to end. The star of the show, though, was most certainly the rib eye steak cooked medium over charcoal grill. The cuisson, seasoning and tenderness combined to make this one of the best steaks I’ve ever had and the flavour, teamed with chimichurro, was out of this world. I’m holding back from 5 stars because of the garnish: when you give me just a handful of chunky chips, make ‘em crispy please! A beautiful, quality food experience to remember...
