Canalejas Park — Attraction in Cádiz

Squeezed in between the handsome buildings of the Old Town and the Port of Cadiz is this charming little park.

You can find a bench, a shady spot to read, or stand looking at the boats leaving en route for the Canary islands. Cargo not passenger nowadays of course.

You will see there a statue of Blas de Lezo, the General who saved Colombia from becoming an English colony be repulsing the English Navy that attempted to conquer the city of the Battle of Cartagena de Indias in 1741, and also the Tourist Office where they have useful town plans and other information.

Bonito, bien cuidado, en localización muy transitada, paralela a la calle Nueva y San Francisco, las dos principales arterias comerciales del centro. El aspecto negativo es la ausencia de aparcamiento, salvo el de Canalejas, con plazas de aparcamiento exiguas y precios...
