i went here based on the reviews and after having looked at their menu on the web. i was quite satisfied coming here - all fresh ingredients in my brie salad and the meat was good quality. my son loved his canelons. good table service and the ambiance was cozy (but drafty by the window) and you can watch the chef working the fire to cook your food. decent wine selection. lovely ice creams for dessert. not a cheap eat but not crazy either. what to watch out for ... i reserved my table using el tenedor which they didn't receive (odd) - AND they overcharged me almost by 11€ (a reminder for everyone once again to ALWAYS check your bill in spain. this is a very common "mistake" and very annoying but i am so used to it i don't freak out anymore. i just tell them to fix it and they do). see my 48€ bill for a father and son meal out. all said, I'd defo come back.

“You had me at mushrooms” We have travelled across Spain- from Bilbao to Girona. There are loads of restaurants that wet our appetite and could send us to the food heaven. L’Argada is one of the few places that brought happiness to us- both in taste and hospitality. Jordi was genuine and sincere in recommending us the food and even shared with us things that we are unlikely to try on our own. So when he said the seasonal special is mushroom- a fav dish of ours- we couldn’t say no. We can confidently say that all the dishes and wine recommendations (shout out to Vinyes d Olivardots wines) we tried are fantastic, fabulous, beautiful, amazing…… (fill in your positive adjectives). I don’t want to leave this place but…. Since I can’t stay here forever, it will be eternally a place that I will always come back to.

We went here based upon a local recommendation and I am glad that we did. This is a great value for the price. Their whole menu is basically a tasting menu, so you get a good quantity of food for the price. The Pan Y Tomate they bring you is a very cool Catalonian thing. If you don't know how to prepare it, please ask, because done properly this is fanastic. The only reason, I didn't go a full 5 stars is because I have had better food in Catalonia. However, based on the prices, this is a great place to stop for a meal when in Girona.

I don’t recommend this place at all. They serve dirty tomatoes, saying that it is normal for Catalonia... They were really dirty!!!!! Then snails were extremely salty, and then the cod fish was also too salty. Plus, snails here are not fresh, as they are not tied to the shells. The service is awful, waiters don’t say a word. Took photo only after the meal, but the view of the food was disgusting, especially the codfish. The only normal thing was salad. Finally, they put complimentary bread on account. DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!

It serves homemade style food. That's why you can feel warm and family rather than cool. There are courses that include appetizers, mains, desserts, and even drinks, and the taste is usually above average. The Iberian Pork Steak was especially delicious. The house wine is also impressive. The staff are very friendly and considerate of their guests. It's a restaurant that people of all ages will love, and there are many local regulars.
