This restaurant was definitely one of my top restaurants during my first trip to Spain. During our visit, we ordered two separate set menus, one for my wife and one for myself. We ended up ordering steamed mussels and escargot for starters and 500gr of dry aged sirloin steak and seabass as the fish of the day.
Before our order, we were served with pan con alioli y tomate that was fun and delicious to try. The garlic and tomatoes were flavorful and fresh and complimented the bread nicely.
For starters, the steamed mussels were very fresh, and well-seasoned while not being too overwhelming. The escargot, which we tried for the first time, was honestly not my personal favorite, but something my wife enjoyed very much. It came with two different sauces, one creamy garlic sauce and another more tomato-based.
For the main course, the dry aged sirloin had such a unique woodfire flavor that was perfectly cooked while still maintaining a juicy texture that I will continue to remember for a long long time. The sea bass was also excellent. Its tomato-based broth was delicious, and the fish was cooked perfectly, maintaining a crispy skin while ensuring a tender meat underneath.
We were also served with a whole bottle of local red wine that was sweet and decadent. Considering it was part of our set menu, and not a separate order, I have to say this was very very generous on the restaurant’s part!
Overall, the restaurant was very generous in its portions, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. My wife and I had a great time at the restaurant and I highly recommend that you pay a visit to this restaurant if you happen to stop by Girona.
Plus, a special shoutout to a very nice lady customer who retrieved my wife’s engagement ring she left in the bathroom. I am forever...
Read morei went here based on the reviews and after having looked at their menu on the web. i was quite satisfied coming here - all fresh ingredients in my brie salad and the meat was good quality. my son loved his canelons. good table service and the ambiance was cozy (but drafty by the window) and you can watch the chef working the fire to cook your food. decent wine selection. lovely ice creams for dessert. not a cheap eat but not crazy either. what to watch out for ... i reserved my table using el tenedor which they didn't receive (odd) - AND they overcharged me almost by 11€ (a reminder for everyone once again to ALWAYS check your bill in spain. this is a very common "mistake" and very annoying but i am so used to it i don't freak out anymore. i just tell them to fix it and they do). see my 48€ bill for a father and son meal out. all said, I'd...

Each patron also received a lovely rose from the restaurant for this special Sant Jordi day. Didn’t manage to capture it but everyone had a huge smile on their surprised faces when gifted with the rose.

Navigated to this place based on recommendation by our Girona walking tour guide. Value for money meal with great service. Highly recommend!
Improvements: we did not make reservation so we took the only available table which was nearest to the door. There were many queuing customers who crowded around us, which was a little...
