Cafetería La Tienda de los Unicornios — Restaurant in Granada

I came with a friend and my two year old daughter to try this cafe. I’ve been wanting to come based on the reviews. Sadly, I left feeling very disappointed and embarrassed by the staff.

After paying my bill and leaving, I was chased down the street by the woman who works there as though I hadn’t paid the bill. I couldn’t imagine what had happened- perhaps I had forgotten something at the table? According to the employee I had forgotten something... but not what I expected.

The employee demanded that I take my daughters 6 baby wipes and an empty 200ml milk carton that I had left neatly on the plate. I had cleaned up coffee that spilt and some milk with the wipes and had brought an extra milk carton for my daughter since she was thirsty. To have been chased after and given a plastic bag (this creating more waste) and told to recycle those items and that I can not leave items from my baby was frankly astonishing. I didn’t have the presence of mind to challenge the employee at the time, but I find myself wondering- what possible reason was there to demand that I take such a trivial amount of garbage elsewhere? Would I have been similarly chased if I had used their napkins to clean the spill? I pride myself in leaving the tables cleaner than I found them and I have never had anyone chase me down before. If there was a good reason for such treatment, why was it not offered at the time? Rather, I was simply told “you cannot throw away items that you use to clean up after your baby.”

This place is not family friendly and I do not recommend it to anyone I meet. I live in Granada and am always looking for a new place to spend time with friends, but I will not...

Amazing vegan cafe to grab delicious food, share with friends or family, play some board games or read a book! The two people preparing breakfast (I’m not sure if they were the owners?) were suuuuper friendly, chatty and nice to talk to! You feel like they are interested in every customer, which is super nice. The vibe was chilled and no one seemed to be rushing or stressed, you could tell they were genuinely enjoying the service! It’s a pleasure to walk into a place managed in this way and it definitely has a positive impact on the whole experience! Music was great and the place is cozy and nicely decorated! There are little details in every corner, plants, art for sale, etc. We had the toast with avocado, scramble tofu, beicon & some greens, it was DELICIOUS for both myself and my non-vegan, meat-lover father. Ya que no me deja responder a los comentarios del local, dejo por aquí mi respuesta. Ya sé que la carta está en español/inglés, mis quejas vienen a raíz del imaginativo nombre que le dáis sin ninguna descripción aparte. Respecto al tema de los alérgenos, imagino que estarán de acuerdo conmigo en que un batiburrillo de ingredientes al final de la carta no es un buen método de mostrar los alérgenos. Siguiente punto, sé que la tetera de leche es más complicada de limpiar, pero os diré un truco: Usar varillas limpiadoras, lo habéis probado o solo os limitais a echarle agua a la tetera para limpiarla? Volviendo al tema de los alérgenos, me parece insultante que consideréis que tenemos un problema intestinal solo por no tolerar la horchata de soja y demás. Aparte de que si que podemos disfrutar de la de chufa, no tenéis potestad, ni siquiera titulación, para darnos diagnóstico médico y echarnos la culpa de vuestra escasez de opciones. Me alegro que vuestros deliciosos bizcochos se acaben a tal punto que no pudiéramos disfrutarlos, mas la sorpresa de la dependienta se me antojó a prepotencia y casi desprecio debido al gesto de su rostro. Como ustedes sabrán, la comunicación no es solo verbal. Aunque admito que tienen razón en que nos podíamos haber levantado e ido, pero como comprenderán eso sería haberles hecho un feo y una vez servida la comanda pasa a llamarse "simpa".Ruego que usen su cabeza para imaginarse que ello podría desembocar en una llamada a la policía e incluso una persecución por parte del personal y no precisamente por una toallita manchada de marrón . Me fascina lo selectivo que es su oído, pues claramente oyeron decir que el bizcocho estaba bueno pese a no tener huevo, cosa que yo recuerde ninguno mencionamos, no pudieron escuchar las risas sobre la increíble decepción que nos había dado lo que pedimos. Claro que nos acabamos el bizcocho, de hecho fui yo por no malgastarlo y porque ya que había pagado por él, no lo iba a tirar. No pedimos el vaso de agua ya que lo único que queríamos hacer es pedir la cuenta e irnos. Con gusto me gustaría ofrecer mi juicio sobre cada local que visito directamente al personal del mismo, pero entienda que esto puede provocar malas reacciones por parte del mismo y puede llevar a que hagan oídos sordos. Considero esto más efectivo, ya que estas dos críticas se mantendrán durante largo tiempo y si ustedes lo desean, podrán leerlas una y otra vez. Les invito a reflexionar sobre el hecho de que aunque yo sea critico al respecto, aunque considerando la decepción lo considero justo, ustedes pueden hacer autocrítica, mejorar los aspectos repasados y, sobre todo, la actitud de la camarera que, repitiendo otra vez para que quede claro, no solo fue el tono si no el gesto lo que me provocó tal desasosiego.
