Full disclosure: we ordered non moroccan food, which were pizza and paella. So that might be the mistake.
So, we are on a road trip around Andalusia. From experience, most restaurants are closed at the time we would like to have our dinner (around 6 pm), but usually a halal / middle eastern restaurant will keep open. That's why we chose this restaurant. But after many days of Middle Eastern food (which we love), we would like something different. And we were delighted to see they have paella (which I have been craving the whole trip) and pizza (which is my husband's favorite food). They have a very promising review (4.7 from 2500+ reviewer). What can go wrong, right? NOPE.
It was the worst food we had on the whole trip. The pizza (Boloñesa). It just looks and tastes like frozen pizza. This comes from someone who regularly has frozen pizza for dinner. The suspicion started when we saw the pizza was perfectly round and flat and had the standard size of frozen pizza. And it tasted like one. The Paella (Homemade - the menu said). Where do I start.... the best part of it was the lemon they put as garnish - I had to ask for extras. I needed to add a half lemon (like half the fruit) and 2 packets of salt to make it palatable. The squid rings were chewy, and the shrimp just tasted off, the mussels were OK, I suppose, compared to the other seafood on the plate (which looked like small paella pan, but clearly the paella was made somewhere else as it s no crusts on the bottom). Dare I say, it might not even be homemade after all? Overall, it was just tasteless. As a good asian, I hate not to clear my plate, especially when there's rice involved, but I just couldn't finish it. Yes, the portion was big, but I can eat for 3 people if I want to. Just ask my husband 😜. It doesn't help that the portion is big, but the taste is just not good. The Moroccan Tea. We LOVE moroccan mint tea. We took home plenty of them from Morocco and had it regularly. They do make a good moroccan tea, but for 4,80 EUR for a small pot, they are just not worth it.
That being said, the atmosphere was cool, the table though is very small (just like in the inside of moroccan shouk). Service is nothing to write home about. They were courteous and understood english.
All the people giving 5 stars seems to be much smarter than we are - they ordered Tagine instead. So maybe go for that if you decide to come to...
Read moreI’m sorry to say this but this was the most disappointing Moroccan/Middle Eastern cuisine I have ever tasted, and I have been to Morocco and the Middle East. Our server was sweet but clearly uninformed about the menu and the regional cuisine he was serving. My boyfriend and I ordered a combination of salads and chilled mezze as well as a grilled chicken skewer plate to share. We requested that they be served at the same time and they were not. We were given cold bread on its own (instead of the usual toasted pita served alongside the sauces) before our dishes came out and the Moroccan tea I ordered was loaded with sugar. The salad combination came out first which featured hummous (decent) a chalky and bitter yogurt/cucumber sauce which had no seasoning, a warm, mushy eggplant dish, and a water-soaked salad also with no seasoning. I requested salt and lemon to season the dishes myself and the server forgot and when he finally brought it, he had only one tiny dried wedge of lemon which he said was all they had in the restaurant. That explains the lack of seasoning. The chicken skewers came out dry but with a decent flavour, served with the same water-soaked cucumber and green pepper salad and fries. I don’t like to complain about things in general and I’m sure the owners are decent people, but potential customers should be aware of the poor quality of this food, as there are literally dozens of Moroccan/Middle Eastern restaurants in Granada to...
Read moreI recently visited this Moroccan restaurant and had a mixed experience. The reception was correct and the service quick, which was a plus. However, I was disappointed by the amount of food served, especially considering the price of 19.5 € for a dish of couscous with meat.
The dish was not substantial enough to satisfy even a 6-year-old child, which made it seem expensive for what was offered. I believe the restaurant should consider revising its prices or increasing the portions it provides.
Furthermore, compared to other Moroccan restaurants I have visited, this one seemed quite modest. And unfortunately, the taste of the dish did not live up to my expectations. I hope these observations will help improve the experience for future customers. ———— This is my reply to your reply:
Good afternoon. I appreciate your response, but it seems there may be some confusion. I believe you may have mistaken me for another customer as the incidents you mentioned did not occur during my visit.
Moreover, the fact that you have mixed up customers could point towards a larger issue in customer service. I'm not the only one who has voiced concerns about your service, and perhaps it would be beneficial to address these issues rather than attributing them to customer errors or attitudes.
I do hope these are isolated incidents and that you will take feedback on board to improve the overall experience for your...
