Bar Restaurante Cafetería Tasca Orotava — Restaurant in La Orotava

This was an absolute disaster from the beginning to the ending, mostly due to the service. When we arrived, 5 people, the two ladies working here were not sure what to do, quite honestly it was my first of such experience. There were not many people and some table available but they could not tell us how long we had to wait. “Maybe 20 minutes” one of them said, “maybe more”, very random and we were talking in Spanish to them. In retrospect I feel that for some reason they did not want us around. However, the solution came from other people sitting on a table, they politely gave us their table and they took their coffe at the bar, the two waiters keep sitting couples on their big tables while we were waiting puzzled and not sure what to do. As a consequence the two waiters looked absolutely angry for the rest of the night, they made the atmosphere very uncomfortable for the whole night, slamming plates and bottles on the tables and rudely replying to our questions. We managed to order but it took an eternity before the food arrived and when the food finally did arrive the whole process was very disorganized, one of us got the starter and then the main course back to back and the rest of us had to wait the longest time. Quite frankly the food was alright (if you stay away from the mixed sausage that made us laugh when they arrived), but it was not worth the struggle with the angry waiters for the whole evening. I don't get how this place has such a good review score. The food was absolutely disgusting. I didn't even take a picture of it for this review because it was simply awful. They also serve the coffee with whipped cream without asking. The portions are crazy cheap but for a reason. Please don't go there if you are a tourist and want to eat something normal that you are used to. I am assuming that the locals like this kind of stuff, but I would not...
