Anarkoli — Restaurant in Madrid

A fabulous Indian restaurant in the middle of Madrid. We had some amazing food here and it was fast and pleasant service. Waiter was very nice to us.It was busy and full of atmosphere and the place is very clean. We passed a few that we didn’t really fancy going in. My friend wanted to try lime pickle, they didn’t have any but he brought their house pickle… it was gorgeous but HOT HOT HOT! We had onion bhagee to start, tandoori mixed grill which had gambas, chicken, etc and a lamb with coconut dish, special fried rice and a lot of papadams. This with one beer & two tinto verano came to just €56! Honestly one of best we’ve had in Madrid and will definitely go back...

YES, YES and YES! I loved this restaurant, the service was amazing, our waiter did not speak spanish but we understood each other. He was smiling all the time and cheaking on us if everything is fine. Menú del día is really good option. They give you some tortillas/bread with 2 sauces for welcoming you. You have to take the cheese bread it is yummy. I ate Tika Massala and asked for a bit spicy not too much, and it was wonderful. For dessert I took zumo de mango it is like a mango milkshake. The food all tested the same. Of ketchup and and some other bland favor unrecognisable and instantly forgettable. I am Indian. Ketchup has never touched my Indian food. The only passable thing was the Tandoori chicken. Other than that it was the worst food I have tried so far in Madrid. I have taken a vow never to try Indian restaurants in Lavapies because they sink to such a low level of cooking it is embarrassing. It's like a Spaniard having an overcooked tasteless paella.
