I would venture to say that Angelita was our absolute favorite restaurant we dined at in Madrid. The cocktails and food are all SO creative and so well executed. For us Americans, we were also pleased that they open earlier than 8pm for dinner so we were able to dine at what felt like a more "normal" time for us.

Our group sampled many bites including a cold meats board, a cheese selection, sourdough bread basket, their play on "ratatouille," steak tartare toasts, fresh tomato salad (one of the specials), and a pumpkin special (featuring pumpkin cream, roasted pumpkin, pumpkin seeds, foam made with pumpkin seeds and muscatel wine, and tender beef and gnocchi).

OMG everything was truly phenomenal. They were so good at accommodating our odd-numbered group (there were 5 of us) and managed to plate the pumpkin special onto 5 plates for us (I think they gave us 1 1/3 orders of it).

They did the same with the ratatouille so we could each get our own plate, which was perfectly composed and absolutely delightful! It's one of their most popular dishes, and I can see why.

They even paced all of our courses so thoughtfully. It really was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences we'd had in a while.

Our main server was David, but we had a few others who delivered food, refreshed our drinks, etc. Every single person was extraordinary. The service was impeccable.

This is not a Michelin-starred restaurant nor does it feel so refined, but we had the most exquisite experience from start to finish. And to top it all off, we really felt like the prices were reasonable for the quality of food and drinks. I can't say enough about Angelita. You MUST go here if you are...

Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had! This place was recommend by a fellow tourist my boyfriend and I met at Flamenco show. We are big foodies and of course hesitant to take on a strangers restaurant recommendation but it was our first night in Madrid and we didn’t know where to eat afterwards. We decided to take a leap of faith and sure enough we were so happy we went!

We arrived early (the restaurant was still closed), but one of the owners, David, (family business…brothers), was very accommodating and was able to seat us.

Not Only was the food amazing (the flavors were unbelievable) but so was their customer service. For most of our service, David took care of us. He was very delightful, he walked us through the food menu and wines. We learned a little history of the restaurant too! (Being in a city full of history, we had to ask questions LOL). Honestly, to see David put on his apron and work along side his team was truly admiring. We don’t see that often.

I can keep on writing and keep telling you more. But I’ll leave you with this, from the appetizers down to our night cap cup of tea. It was hard for us to call it a night.

If we ever visit Madrid again, Angelita will be the first place we’ll return to.

Thank you for the experience! And so sorry for the late review…a month later we are still daydreaming...

Symbiosis Cocktail Bar under Angelita's in Madrid - so impressed w what these two brothers from Galicia done. Not only are their cocktails really innovative, they are hyper local. Ingredients are sourced from their parents farm in the N of Spain and the ingredients are impressively used to make even about half their own distillate and also their own sodas. I've never really seen the expression of terroire in a cocktail like I did at Symbiosis.

The cocktail bar looks like a full on lab with fermenters, distillers, mashers, dry ice, scales, magnetic stirring flasks, gasses and over 100 containers of different ingredients (all of which I haven't seen since Lab in Chemistry)

Their glasses are also all double walled preventing any dilution in ice and also creating a unique effect where you get slush forming on interior of glass allowing experience of a cocktail in an entirely different texture.

Highly recommend a stop at Symbiosis where you will experience a farmer meets chemist meets chef meets artist. Thoroughly inspired and motivated to try a few new things - starting w some new attempts on the cocktail foam front.

Hands down one of the best meals I've had! This place was recommended to my partner and I by the hotel concierge and we are so glad we went! We started with a tomato salad and the charcuterie board. It was followed by the ratatouille and Iberian pork with sweet potato and pickled mushrooms. Each dish was paired with a wine as recommended by our servers. The tomatoes with olive oil and salt were simply delicious. I've never tasted such a delicious tomato (and honestly I am not a huge fan of tomatoes - I can't explain why these were so delicious). The charcuterie was also very good. The ratatouille was made and presented in a way I've never had before (with an egg yolk in the center). The egg yolk perfectly complimented the well prepared vegetables. I can't say enough good things about the Iberian pork. Perfectly cooked and well paired with sweet potato and pickled mushrooms. All the wine pairing suggestions went perfectly with each plate. I don't know much about wine, so I'm going to leave it at that 😀 Lastly, the service was second to none. The staff was attentive without being over bearing and very helpful with suggestions. If I were in Madrid longer, I'd frequent this place daily - highly recommend!!
