Botequim Tapas Bar — Restaurant in Madrid

We had a lovely meal here May 28 - we wanted to share so we could try more on the menu so we went with the recommendations our waiter provided. Botequim offers a Spanish-Brazilian fusion menu that was both varied and delicious. From crispy croquettes with delicious fillings like salted codfish and short ribs to the traditional Brazilian cheese and tapioca bites and yam/cheese buns on into a perfectly crispy chicken cutlet and a cod dish with Brazilian salsa and jasmin rice and a lovely fresh burrata salad with confit tomatoes. Of course life is not sweet enough without a little dessert...try the passion fruit mousse (spectacular) and the cheese cake with guava sauce was also a hit. Everything we tried was excellent and the food and drinks were serve up in a relaxed and welcoming environment. We enjoyed it very much and so will you. Muchos Gracias...

On our holiday we’d found this place for breakfast around the corner from our place and the omelette with mushrooms and truffle was delicate and delicious. Coffee was excellent ( we’re from Sydney and coffee is a religion there).. When we looked at the menu for tapas we decided to head there and booked a table that night. We weren’t disappointed. This was one of our fave meals in all of our travels. The Tapioca bites were a lovely appetiser and such a refreshing change from regular tapas. We moved onto the “fish and chips” .. far from average, followed by the Brazilian Chicken Croquettes.. perfection. Wine list was great, vermut was delicious..(addicted to that.. why are people drinking Sangria??lol) . Great options for gluten free diners. This Spanish-Italian fusion bistro features an interior decorated in dark blue and wood tones. Seating is limited, but there are high chairs at the bar. The waiter was very friendly and honored my reservation request, seating me by the window.

I tried their weekday lunch menu, which costs 13.90 EUR and includes a starter, main course, dessert, bread, and a drink. I chose the Croquetas de salmón con mayo kimchee, Linguine en salsa roja de atún y mejillones, and Mousse de maracuyá con crumble. All the dishes were very tasty, well-seasoned, and reasonably portioned.
