Citynizer Plaza - Lavapiés — Restaurant in Madrid

I've walked in twice, once last night & again this afternoon...last night walked out after 15 minutes because I was ignored. No, the place wasn't busy; yes, they certainly had enough staff. The same thing almost happened today but I refused to be ignored and went to the bar. The guy was ok until I asked him to please look at me when he spoke as I am 89+% deaf, he became defensive and after I ordered he then brought the wrong meal. Yes, I am older, (72) & yes I am alone so I'm guessing I'm not too important as I'm not going to spend a heap of money. Well have I got news for this establishment!!! No tip, no future patronage and I intend to tell everyone what a crap place this is because you distinguish between customers....which is not doing your job... you're there to serve. Very unhappy, just in case you didn't...

Great place!! This restaurant is ideal for a Spring afternoon with friends. There is a patio area on the interior away from the street with a really nice feel to it, like a little oasis. It's open-air with a stage for shows and a giant wall where they project movies. The whole scene is very conducive to sticking around a while. The burger with kimchi blew my mind! I've got to try that at home. But...the best...for me anyway...was the bocadillo de calamari!!! Love the garlic aioli on it. I would return for that alone...I would camp out in their garden for it! The people were so friendly and animated (more energy than your usual Spanish wait staff) and speak English. Will return often during these beautiful weather months...

Don’t eat here. Service is very bad. Waitress was abrasive when we were able to get her attention and inattentive in general. Would have been there all night if I didn’t walk up to the bar and request the check. Might have actually stuck around if I could have gotten a refill. Looking back I was lucky to get a drink order in. And it wasn’t busy, place was empty when we walked in. Attached to a hostel so clientele is on the younger side it seems, does not excuse offensive attitude towards patrons. Don’t give these...
