El Imparcial — Restaurant in Madrid

Overall, I was a bit disappointed with my experience. The space itself is beautifully decorated, but I did find it to be a bit too loud and it was hard to converse with others at my table. The food was good, but perhaps a bit simple for the prices. My recommendations are the steak carpaccio and the oxtail croquettes. They were delicious!

My main issue was that I felt like my requests were not addressed by the service. The waiters were very nice, but didn’t communicate portion size very well. Although I made it clear we were ordering for seven and hoped to share, it was a bit complicated and it would have been great if the waiters had more familiarity with the portion sizes to better advise which plates are better for sharing.

Furthermore, when making the reservation, I asked by phone if it would be possible to bring a baby stroller as we were dining with an infant. The staff was very friendly and informed me that it wouldn’t be a problem and that there would be plenty of space. However, upon arrival, the restaurant was very crowded and although we fit the stroller next to the table, I felt as if we were obstructing the room and bothering the people at the table next to us. In short, I felt that although I let the staff know we were bringing stroller and was told there wouldn’t be an issue, I felt like it was an obstacle for us, the staff and other clients.

In a grandiose setting with high ceiling you get an original combination of foods. Over the years I've never been disappointed although this last time I wish the portions would stop becoming smaller, 4 raviolis for 18 euros is steep no matter how good they are (they were!). The cevice is to die for, what a combination! On this occasion the waiter was very plain and solemn, one starter was forgotten (only 2 people at the table!) with no apology whatsoever. Small but good selection of wines by the glass, great cocktails too (sampled on a previous occasion). Disappointed with the cheesecake (the base is not crunchy enough for my taste) but the chocolate rotten tart was delicious. In the end 50 euros each for starter, main, dessert and 3 glasses of wine each, and a very pleasant experience altogether. Some improvements...

Local, es muy bonito , sin ser enorme da mucha sensación de amplitud , muy luminoso y agradable. A mi me encanta. Hoy hacia un poco de frio 8,5/10

Carta y cocina , la carta no es muy amplia y tp me parece q hayan renovado desde q lo conozco . La cocina está bien . Aún siendo platos q se ven ahora en todas las cartas todos tenían algún toque original.

Tb las habíamos comido la vez anterior ,muy ricas , aq esta vez me han resultado menos originales 8,5/ 10 📷 tacos de cochinita pibil , aq estan buenos no son los mejores q he probado La salsa roja es picante, gana con ella . 7,5/10 📷 hummus con crudités, el hummus está buenísimo , con pan tostado y creo q con pita sp está mejor . Bastante grande. Lo pido sp 8,5/10 📷 hamburguesa vegana , me ha gustado bastante , las patatas fritas muy ricas 8,5/10 📷 hamburguesa de pollo crunchy , rica aq mejor la vegana . Las mismas patatas super crujientes 8/10 📷 tarta de zanahoria, bastante grande y bastante rica .No es la top del Bexamel , menos esponjosa ,pero bastante rica . 9/10

De otras visitas 📷 puerros con romescu , la ración es generosa , puerros grandes , algunos pedazos tienen "demasiada fibra " La romescu flojita ..y escasa, pedimos más y nos trajeron un cuenquito . 7,5/10 📷 huevos con boniato ,trufa, patatas y parmesano,muy ricos . 8,5/10 📷tarta de queso, rica aq mas normal 8/10

Servicio Tardaron un poco en tomar nota pero los platos llegaron muy rápido. No tienen agua grande ni opción de jarra👎🏻. Agobian un poco en el afán de "retirar los platos" , igual por meter un turno más 7/10

Relación calidad precio : 23 euros por persona, con bebidas, bien la verdad . 8 /10

Hoy hemos disfrutado de un fantástico brunch en El Imparcial ,me ha gustado muchísimo.
