La Arepera — Restaurant in Madrid

We came into try this place and left very satisfied! The cachapa de Pabellón was super good, savory and a touch sweet. The arepa Llanera had exceptionally tasty marinated beef strips, and the arepa Pernilísima was also good but required some extra guasacaca sauce to bring out the flavors. The waitress was very attentive and the place is clean and well decorated. We came for dinner early so we had the inside to ourselves. The food came fast and hot, it was a great experience overall. The menu is really big and authentic for a Venezuelan place in Europe so we were very excited to find it! We had a great lunch at La Arepera and absolutely loved it! We tried the Plato Criollo, an arepa, and some empanadas. Everything was super tasty and full of authentic flavors. The portions were generous, and the food felt homemade in the best way.

A special shoutout to Francis, who took care of us with such kindness and made the experience even better. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome.

It’s a nice place to try Venezuelan food . I came twice because didn’t have the chance to try the “awarded” arepa sandwich the first time. Overall I would say I prefer the option to try the mini arepas or the plate that had beans (forgot the name of the dish). The food was tasty, but a touch too heavy for me. Service was good.
