One of our true favorites over the past five years. For awhile we went every week. The represents the best of Cadiz and southern Andalusian cuisine. Our all time favorite is the cheek stew (carrillada). Fork tender with soft carrots and a wonderful gravy. And plenty of bread for that gravy. Other top plates are the mojama (smoked tuna) and tortillitas with shrimp. We’ve even sampled urchin there in the past and the cazon en adobo is very good. They serve a really great red , Ramon Bilbao, and many guests enjoy the vermouth. Our server Jose was super friendly and kept things moving quickly while still managing lively conversation with everyone ! Definitely stop by when in Madrid.

Quaint tavern for wine, beer, and delicious food. There are only seven small barrel tables in the main dining room. The walls are decorated with old bullfighting posters and what not. The waiter took his time, but in a good way he would sit at all the tables and chat with the patrons. His food suggestions were excellent and very pleasant. They had run out of some popular items, yes I'm looking at you, croquetas de la abuela, when we ordered. He brought over a bean and olive tapa to nibble on as you look at the menu. Enjoyed the tortillitas de camarón caseras, adobo sanluqueno, papas con choco. Recommend!

Thanks for the hospitality! Randomly walked by after leaving the Saint Francisco Cathedral and entered this restaurant. Quite popular during Sunday lunch hours, I didn’t make reservation so had to sit at the entrance bar table area. I also had difficulty reading Spanish, but other customers were very friendly and helped me translate and make recommendation. They told me it’s a locally favorite place with good quality for price. There was a gentleman at the back of their restaurant (guess it’s the owner?), who kindly offered me free jamon tapa, which was really great!

Gracias...

This place is incredible. One Saturday lunch I ended up with a savage hunger just round the corner from here, saw it was on my want to go list and so dived in. I'm so glad I did. This is a game-changer. The food and style is Andalucian. They have Alhambra on draft - tick; sponsored by a delicious sherry bodega - tick; some local Andalucian wines - tick; food is absolutely marvelous - tick and it is unbelievable value for money. Some highlights I recommend tortillitas de camarones (crispy prawn pancakes) - a great snack to begin with boquerones fritos (fried fresh anchovies) - light, delicious cazon (fried shark) - melt in the mouth The cheese is great and the jamón is absolutely delicious, but everything here is. I've tried much more and it has all been great. A top restaurant. I am sure I'll be back again and again and will definitely be taking friends that...

Hands down the best meal I had on this recent trip to Madrid.  I recommend it to those who want to try Spanish food beyond Paella and the regular tapas. This Andalusian(precisely from Cadiz) got it all! The food is amazing, authentic and refined without changing the original flavor. The portions are generous. The service is friendly and effective(some of them even speak English). And the wine selection is good, so goes decor and vibes are good!

Clients are a mix of locals and expats/tourists. It is a bit more than the standard Spanish (local) bar/bodega price, but nothing too expensive(even for locals). And honestly, if you are a tourist, you will probably pay as much(if not more) for a frozen Paella around Plaza mayor! So it is worth it!

Would like to end this review by Thanking Spain revealed channel for the...
