Stopped in for some tapas before heading out to a show. The show was great, but I went to bed that night dreaming of this food. Each bite was a delight! Each bite made me stop whatever I was thinking about to focus on what was happening in my mouth. That’s five stars in my book.
We had the Tomates Fritos Verdes, the Bomba Patata Rellena and Carrilleras con Setas. Each one delightful. The combination of fried green tomatoes, goat cheese and fig, brilliant! The surprise of honey on the Carrilleras was attention grabbing.
We had a little extra time and decided to try deserts, we couldn’t make up our mind so we had both the cheese cake and brownie. Again, wow! I don’t know what to say about the brownie except that it was perfect. Not too sweet, lots of chocolate, just the right amount of nuts, topped with ice cream, yum. The cheesecake was not typical, shaped like a flan, no crust, but delicious. A stand out to me because I’ve never had a cheesecake that tasted like cheese. It was definitely a cheesecake, but slightly cheesy. The raspberry topping brought it all together. My wife and I debated the missing crust but decided that having the cheese flavour was worth it.
We highly recommend this restaurant and will be back when...
Read moreLet me start with a disclaimer - at such busy places you do expect service to be slower but holy *.
Imagine this - you order something and then your server disappears somewhere downstairs also where the toilets are. Then you wonder ... 🤔 Did they fall in to the toilet ? Did they slip on the way up and broke their ankle? Well sadly our server never returned ☠️
The food was very good (the bombas were outstanding, the Carpaccio was amazing, croquetas were nice but the green tomato thing was not for us) and the atmosphere very nice but the service ... well it was as slow as the changes your politicians promise during the campaign and they never keep.
We were fed up and even cancelled out last order for 2 cortados for which nobody actually wanted to fulfill.
Is this a place to go and eat ? Yes if you love to spend your time alone but if you want to actually enjoy your time male sure to order everything on one go at the first...
Read moreCosy little restaurant decorated with thick wooden tables and iron chairs. We came for the menu del dia, priced at €13.50, which was well worth it, with wine and bread included in the price. I had a well-portioned greek salad to start, followed by the flame grilled pluma iberica which was delicious, and served with well-seasoned wedges and roasted tomatoes on the side. This came with an additional cost of €6.50 above the menu price. There was no vegetarian option on the menu. There were limited dessert options and I opted for the cheescake which was nice enough. We had to wait a long time between courses to be served although it was at peak time and our waiter was very friendly and helpful. There wasn't much atmosphere about the place but it may come alive more in the evening when it transforms more into a bar. Well decorated and serviced toilet...
