Los Espetinhos Malasaña — Restaurant in Madrid

The worst service! It seems like they just don't want the business of interested patrons. I walked in at 4pm (closing time is 5:30pm) and was turned back with the excuse that the kitchen was closed, mind you, there was still an hour and a half left til restaurant closing. The next day, I walked in at 9:30pm (closing time is 11:30pm) and this time I was told that they only take customers with reservations. I'm baffled at this horrible service and the disregard for customers. Shame on whoever manages this place. You could have the best food in Madrid but if you don't know how to treat customers, your restaurant is no good!

Response to owner: I am sorry to read that in addition to poor service, you are also lying. There is no way you know which customer I am to imply that you know exactly the time at which I arrived. I DID arrive at 4pm (actually it was 3:55pm to be exact) and I was denied service. On the day I was denied service, I DID NOT have a party of 5 people, it was just 2 of us and the restaurant WAS NOT full, so that's another lie. If you’re looking for the best Brazilian restaurant in Madrid, this is the place to go (coming from a Brazilian)!!! The food was incredible, and the staff made sure to tailor the meat they brought to our preferences. There was no shortage of delicious meat, and we absolutely loved the grilled pineapple with cinnamon they served at the end. The waiters were so kind, friendly, and attentive.

There was a small incident where one of the waiters accidentally dropped a bowl of beans near our table, and just a tiny amount splashed onto my coat. Honestly, after such a great experience, I didn’t mind at all. Not only did they insist on a 50% discount on our meal, but they also insisted on covering the cost of having my coat dry cleaned. I’ve never experienced such thoughtful service before - everyone was so apologetic over such a small mistake, and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was ok!

I believe my experience will say it all: we were hunting for a good rodizio and found this place with great score and wanted to give it a shot, but we didn’t know we needed reservation, and although not having it, they gave me a consideration (I mean, a very HUGE consideration) as I was on crutches and did the trip to be there and gave us a table, so they already got the 5 stars in service for being so empathetic! But please consider doing a reservation beforehand! It’s their policy ;)

Then the food. We couldn’t be more pleased! Various and premium selection of meats, pork and chicken. Tasty, perfect timing, and you can even select how well or raw you want your piece! And the sides were delicious as well, the crew was so kind and servicial, not only with us, but seems it’s their natural way to do things.
