Mamúa Café Bar — Restaurant in Madrid

I used to like going here for coffee but recently had a terrible experience. Apparently they have a policy of not allowing laptops on weekends or festivals because they think people will sit there for hours. I understand this but there is way to convey such things. First of all, this notice was not posted outside on the door of the cafe but on a wall inside, which one can easily overlook. Secondly, when the waitress told me about it, i had already ordered my coffee and when i asked her if i could least work while i finish, she said 5 minutes! I was anyway not intending to stay there for long and the cafe was still half empty. If they are so worried about people staying for long they can make a policy that people can only stay an hour or order something else to stay longer! Outright telling people they can’t work more than 5 minutes is crazy. By this logic, I can stay there and play on my phone for hours and that’d be fine! Also when i tried to talk to the manager he was quite smug and not interested about the concerns of a regular customer. Never going back here coz i have never experienced such behaviour from staff. This was just a wonderful Cafe to spend the afternoon! The place is beautiful and very calm. We went there to have lunch, as we had nothing for breakfast we were really hungry and after a menu for 12€ we were absolutely full. The food was really delicious and a perfect mix between breakfast and actual lunch. ( if that makes any sense) The food arrived really fast and also the drinks wich were included in the menu were huge. Also the waiters were very kind and obliging. I would definitely recommend this cafe to everybody who is looking for good food, only a stop by for coffee or a nice place to meet up with friends. We arrived at Mamua quite late around 11pm and we were so surprised! We thought, let's try to get a quick bite and just leave. Soon enough we met Christian who welcomed us with a warm smile and was SUPER HOSPITABLE (ACTUALLY THE NICEST WE HAVE MET IN MADRID)! We ordered some food, had a few drinks and let me tell you............. the salmon salad is so unique, it tastes amazing!!!!!!!!!!! The chef should be extremely proud of himself! So fresh, so REFRESHING AFTER A LONG DAY EXPLORING! We absolutely loved it and guess what...
