I came here for the fresh tortilla, since most places make it in the morning, and then serve it cold or re-heated during the day. Unfortunately the tortilla sucks, even though they serve it hot. It's their speciality, in their name, but they can't do it right. The tortilla was soggy and saltly. It's popular to serve it under cooked, but it wasn't just that. They are able to cook it quickly because the potatoes are already cooked, and they just throw in the eggs and cook it. But the pot of potatoes is a bunch of mush that's been sitting there for a while, so when you mix it with eggs and then under cook it, it turns into a blended mush of eggs and potatoes. They even let me back to the kitchen to watch the sad chefs. Then if you sit outside you'll be pestered by people trying to sell tourists squeaky toys and flowers. When I tried to pay for my tortilla with a credit card, he complained that the machine has bad service. No, you have bad service. If you want good tortilla, go to...

I was recommended this place by a friend who really knows about good cuisine, his recommendation was made with so much emphasis that I was compelled to start a quest to find this location. I cannot lie, once I found the place I felt as if I had to leave, due to the way the restaurant is shaped, for the layout is very unorthodox; however, once I had my first taste of the “Tortilla” all thoughts of awkwardness disappeared, then I ordered some “croquetas” and bread and without even noticing how, I just cared not if I was in a castle or a cave, because I just had one of the most delicious meals during my trip to Spain.

Now I honestly challenge with the same emphasis my friend did, for you to stop by and allow your tastebuds to be...

We walked in, and it looked really nice and great atmosphere. We asked for an allergen menu, since we have a gluten free and dairy free diet. He helped us really good with which dishes we could order. Had the mushrooms and tortilla and it did not disappoint. Nice surroundings matching the history of the building housing this restaurant! Would recommend for people with allergens, but bare in mind that the menu is not too big, really focused on tortillas...

Absolutely incredible experience. A warm, friendly welcome and simply the best tapas you will find in Madrid. Proper homemade food, made with love and care. Gorgeous spanish omelette, fried chorizo, garlic and salt mushrooms, etc. The lady who runs the place is so kind and you can tell she gets real joy from feeding people good food. Such a wonderful experience - so pleased we gave this place a try!

Well, I would not describe this as a cave like interior. Fred Flintstone murals, hmm. Right outside Plaza Mayor so super touristy. But, unlike other plaza restaurants, the food is not bad. Tortilla was good, even at 11pm, and fried peppers were delicious. Both made to order. No pictures, but everyone has seen a tortilla. Good stop if your at the plaza and hungry.
